If the rising cost of groceries hasn't given you enough to fret over, how about another scary development on the food safety front?
On top of swirling online rumors about new U.S. cases of Mad Cow, will we now have to worry about Mad Pig? This NYT article works pretty hard to suggest we might not, but...well, you decide.

Seriously, why would any educated and informed person eat any of that stuff? That stuff being the end-product of the corn, grain, soy, and bone-meal industry; we being the end-product for that stuff. To a Martian, we're cannibals, to a Venusienne, we're a feed lot.
P.s., according to wikipedia ("intensive pig farming'), that animal parts-based feed that has been outlawed from ruminant (such as cattle) feed is still fed to pigs.
