Lots of news about bulge-gate; please scroll down a bit to see it all. You'll also want to read this exchange on why the Washington media has not covered the story. There's more to come, very soon...

Personally and as per your article link, I find it hard to buy that the predominant news organizations will not investigate a possible story, because it comes from somewhere else, off the net for instance.

What is more disturbing is Dave Lindorff new article at Mother Jones' site:
http://www.motherjones.com/news/update/2004/11/10_407.html

What I do find strange, is that for whatever reason all of the major press news sources will not touch "bulgegate". This seems to me an act of collusion, that the press powers-to-be (and Kerry's campaign to bat) know something of extreme importance that we don't . Furthermore, it may be something that they and/or the government perceive the public couldn't handle, especially at this vulnerable time of national elections and war.

If this were the case, what could it possible be? Presidential health could be one concern especially if the encumbent were forced to leave prior to the election. Would Cheney take over the number one spot? Would McCain be drafted on as number two, or might he come on board as a presidential candidate? Obviously, we haven't gone through this before, and we haven't any procedures to replace a pre-election candidate. Although, we do have procedures for replacement "after" the election. What makes all of this particularly acute is a "time of war", the weak health of vice-president Cheney, and this same individual's low public ratings.

A second reason may be that the device is non-medical and is purely communicational in use. Perhaps, and as indicated on this site, this device has been utilized by most recent presidents, and perhaps is meant to maintain constant communication between a chief of state and his staff for security reasons. Whether useful in event of assasination, the advent of an in-coming plane, or the setting off of a nuclear device, its function may have extended over the years to one of supplying information at particular points. Most recently, Bush and crew may have corrupted its use further in proping up his limited knowledge of the campaign and his disastrous manner of forming an argument. Revealment by the press would endanger the security aspect of the device, and it would be extremely difficult to breakdown the exact usage by Bush at a particular time.

The third reason is collective guilt and coverup over hiding a particular issue from the public. Again, on this site and others, at least one high level press person was quoted as saying that the president being wired was known and accepted for some time. If a wired Bush was necessary to rally a nation together after a major crisis, who wouldn't conceal such a fact. After all, its use would be no worse than a teleprompter. That it would be further used in getting the president through three debates might not have been foreseen at this particular point in time. So, having bought in and "allowed" its use, how could the press now in October 2004 reveal his dependence upon the device and if done, destroy him and his campaign, as well as their own credibility.

Even if this story won't come out before the election, there is ample proof to warrant pess attention. Maybe they will cover this story after the election results.

The ultimate PRESS CONTACT LIST is posted at BUSH WIRED.
