The VIPS factor. Right-wing conspiracy site Gateway Pundit reveals that John Paul Mac Isaac -- the nearly-blind computer repair guy who gave us the ludicrous "magic laptop" story -- is a longtime friend of Larry C. Johnson. Remember him? Johnson is a former spook who, in 2008, infiltrated -- and partially commandeered -- the pro-Hillary PUMA movement.
For a while, he had me fooled; I thought he was a sincere Clinton supporter. But his lies were simply atrocious. Johnson's now-defunct site No Quarter was the birthplace of Birtherism.
Johnson is a founding member of VIPS -- Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity -- which I now see as a pro-fascist organization, although some of them pretend to be on the left.
If you read Marcy Wheeler, you'll know about "Phil" -- the spook who set Marcy up and tried to play games with her head. "Phil" belongs to VIPS. Marcy won't confirm that, but, well, he is. Trust me on that.
What happened to Marcy is a long and complex story, and I don't pretend to understand all of it. Bottom line: In 2016, "Phil" went to great lengths to convince Marcy that he was anti-Trump, but after the election he turned out to be on Team Trump all along. In other words, Phil did to Marcy in 2016 what Johnson did to me in 2008. They were snakes, and we provided the grass.
That's all you need to know about VIPS. Do not believe anything they say about themselves; they are liars.
One day, we may know the role played by VIPS in creating or spreading the Hunter Biden smear. Those who never venture out of the Dem bubble underestimate the effectiveness of that smear. (Similarly, in 2004, Dems ignored -- until too late -- the effectiveness of the swiftboaters.) This "scandal" did not have the massive impact Trump desired, but neither was the attack harmless.
The Chinese. In yesterday's post, I also discussed Guo Wengui and the other "anti-China Chinese" allied with Steve Bannon. This fascinating story has more details. Turns out that Bannon's Chinese pals knew all about the Hunter hit weeks before publication. How, I wonder, did that happen?
Fortunately, John Pan -- a former member of this group named -- has flipped.

As you probably know, one of the primary "news" sources purveying pro-Trump disinfo on YouTube and elsewhere is the Epoch Times, which belongs to a Chinese cult called Falun Gong. A year ago, this site offered some fascinating research into Falun Gong.
The Falun Gong teaches that: post menopausal women can regain menstruation, considered mandatory for spiritual evolution; gays are demonized; mixed race people are demonized; cult members are discouraged from seeking modern medical treatment; space aliens are inhabiting human bodies and are responsible for modern technology such as airplanes and computers; tiny beings are said to be invading human bodies and causing “bad karma;” master Li Hongzhi knows the secrets of the universe; master Li Hongzhi can levitate and walk through walls; master Li Hongzhi can install a physical “Falun” -- swastika -- in the abdomen of followers which revolves in various directions; Falun Gong teaching demonizes feminists and popular music; there will be a “Judgement Day” on which communists and others deemed unworthy by master Li Hongzhi will be neutralized.Yes, the "Falun" symbol really is a swastika. Look it up.
Please spare me the predictable lecture you're now itching to give me regarding the benign, cross-cultural origins of that symbol. I first heard that exact same predictable lecture circa 1970. Guess what? Things change, and some changes are permanent. I also don't want to hear any pseudo-mystical bullshit about the swastika having a different meaning depending on which way it twirls. These days, the swastika means fascism, AND THAT IS FUCKING IT.

Death for the hundreds of thousands – or millions - of the Americans who unnecessarily contract the coronavirus because Trump prefers the lazy indifference of the herd immunity approach to the work of actually making and implementing an effective policy.
Death for millions of people who won’t get the medical treatment they need after Trump destroys Obamacare in the courts, especially those who won’t be able to get affordable insurance due to pre-existing conditions.
Death for those shot in the streets by the Proud Boys and others of their fascist ilk while protesting Trump’s attempts to steal an election his voters put him close enough to challenge.
Death to those poisoned due to Trump’s destruction of critical health and environmental regulations.

Death for more migrants at the border.
Death by starvation for the thousands certain to be left behind by his ”let them eat cake” stock market centric economy.
Death to the thousands who will continue to die from unabated gun violence.
Death for hundreds of millions more if Trump’s greed, paranoia and caustic incompetence lead to all-out-war with China (to prevent it from overtaking America as the most powerful nation on earth, as it certainly will if Trump continues in office) or Russia (to prevent Putin from exposing his previous crimes and to take over the mantle of the world’s leading kleptocrat.)
Death in the short term for thousands from climate change related storms, floods and wildfires.
Death in the longer run for all the rest of us, as trillions of tons of methane frozen under the Artic Ocean and Siberian permafrost melt and push us past the climate change tipping point beyond which the worst case scenario can no longer be prevented.

Bingo.
Too many cult followers in the US susceptible to the presidential bs and lies. I blame high school football and some evangelists, but there are some who believed his persona in The Apprentice was real. He makes them feel like winners -- even as he trashes their actual lives. These are people who feel left behind, so it is powerful poison.
I just hope the rest of us can out-vote them. Even then, as you say, he may try to overturn the election. I am hoping he has po'd some in the military and that they will support transition.
My wife is being constantly harangued by her boss who is a die hard Trump cultist. My wife doesn't want to hear it, but her boss obviously doesn't care. Her place of employment actually forbids such political talk (and harassment, which is really what this is). My wife is too nice to tell her to shut the hell up (which was my suggestion) or to report her to the higher ups (which I told her she really should do......but she doesn't want to be a "snitch", I guess). These people are brainwashed without question. Neither my wife or I are Democrats. She is far less politically educated than I am, and neither of us think Biden is the best choice for President, but we both voted for him because the alternative is the end of America, literally and figuratively. Yet still, my wife gets bombarded with Trump propaganda by her boss. These people are in a bubble that can not be pierced and they don't want it to be. Worst of all, they don't even know they are in a bubble! I have mostly liberal friends, and I actively seek out sources of information that attempt to contradict my views because I don't want to be a propaganda drone for any political party or viewpoint. Trumpers simply don't have the self awareness for that. It's a cult, without question, much as Nazism was (and still is, apparently). I wish I was less cynical than Joseph, but they way things have been going, I find it hard not to be. Hoping to be proven wrong though.
Gus, stories like yours -- by which I mean, the story of your wife's boss -- are the reason why I will NEVER buy into the theory of the "shy" Trump voters. These zealots are the opposite of shy.
Yet we're going to hear a lot about the "shy" Trump voters starting on November 4. Or so I fear.
Please explain why Doctors have offered zero treatment protocols, including natural ones, when patients are first placed in 14 day home quarantine after either being diagnosed as COVID-19 positive, or having been exposed to someone who was COVID-19 positive.
Why are Doctors allowing their patients to be dominated early on?
