I don't think it is wise to separate the discussion of healthcare from the discussion of military expenditures.
In turn, I don't think it is wise to talk back all military expenditures if we are not making concerted efforts to
REDUCE our dependence on ALL foreign resources.
Let's see here...
95% (or so) of everybody makes just enough money to get by.
That's by design of course, a system designed by the very people that realized that those 95% (or so) would never be able to support themselves when tossed out of the workforce. So they created Social Security, something that would provide just enough to stay alive on.
Unintended consequences. Who would have figured on the baby boom and millions of people living past 65?
Well, politicians - being the greedy creteins they are - gleefully plundered the Social Security reserves over the years, so now anybody working today is paying for those on SS today, and not into a fund for their future assistance.
They know that, so now the big push is on "retirement" plans that "invest" in the stock market. But guess what? Everybody is starting to realize that the stock market is nothing more than a giant Ponzi scheme being continually raided by the looters, and will never provide for retirement.
So... If you cancel out the SS program, millions of old coots will either leap onto welfare and into government housing... Resulting in no savings whatever, or just die in the streets.
But AHA! Here comes the lightbringer and Congress with this "end of Life" program. Whatever could be their purpose?
A "Soylent Green" solution. Just freaking marvelous.
Oh, for chrissakes. "Living will" counseling is not a "Soylent Green" solution.
Stop being a jackass.
