The Holocaust museum

Believe it or not, I was fixed to publish a long-ish piece on the Holocaust museum in Washington D.C. Then today's tragedy occurred. I will probably publish the piece within a couple of days. Until then, let me express my condolences to the family of slain security guard Stephen Jones.

Some of you have wondered why I, in the past, have paid so much attention to the myth of the Illuminati conspiracy -- a myth which seems to find new adherents each year. Apparently, James von Brunn -- the accused killer -- was a staunch believer in that myth, and in just about any other conspiracy theory you could name. Jones was far from the first victim slain by someone who could not tell the difference between political reality and political folklore.

One of the things I find so depressing about the previous year's campaigns, is the degree to which even the moderate left embraced "truthiness". I'm still dumbfounded at the degree to which political lies are being told about Palin. This just isn't the left I knew and was proud to be a part of. Everything has just gone so haywire.

I'm very sad about this shooting. I was struck by the guard's photo. I was sure he was someone that I would like.

During the Clinton presidency, right wing terrorists killed twice as many Americans as foreign terrorists did. And I may not have gotten all the rightwing attacks on my list. Anyway, according to the State Department, 89 Americans were killed by foreign terrorists and yes, that includes the Cole. But 178 Americans were killed by right wing terrorists during those eight years.

Here is the list with links. This should be a big story because brightly illuminates and substantiates current concerns.

Thank you, Joseph. I am glad you note this. It did not escape my notice when the news account noted that the gunman was previously convicted of trying to kidnap members of the Federal Reserve Board. All those Federal Reserve conspiracy theories are rooted in the Mother Theory of "Jew Bankers secretly rule the world!!!!!"

Perhaps you saw that OBambi's mentor, Rev. Wright, has recently said "them Jews" won't let Barack talk to him? Well, in one of the comments, a Wright defender said it wasn't an opinion, it was fact that Jews own all the wealth, etc etc. A non-sequitor, anyway, since Wright was probably referencing specific handlers surrounding Obama.

Thank God Obama has handlers. Can you imagine what shit we'd be in if he were acting on his own?

After my mother died of cancer and obviously could no longer care for her mother suffering with Alzheimer's.

The Freemasons conspired to take care of Grandma in a nursing home.

They came and helped my family in a time of need, so while all the evil stories are interesting myths. My real life experience with the Freemasons couldn't be more removed from such lore.

Hopefully, someone will see this and realize they have been duped by the internet.

I look forward to your article doing the same.

Given the shooter's age, which I've heard given as 89, he's most likely suffering from dementia (Alzheimer's, or a different kind) at this late stage of his life.

Somehow, believing as he has for all this time, only now did he perform this level of violent act?

So is it just the belief system (which he's had for decades), or something else wrong that has occurred more recently-- a more pronounced slide to dementia, a desire to commit 'suicide by cop' out of depression or despair (might he have a terminal illness or permanent physical decline)?

Pending more information, I don't think that question can be answered with accuracy, yet it's important to be clear about the details.

For, if a heroin addict has a 60-year heroin habit, and ends up doing something we'd normally attribute to the addiction only after 60 years of being addicted, it more or less means the connection we'd normally assume is in question (or else why would it take 60 years to manifest?).
