A good line is worth repeating...

From Donna Darko:
The Left Coaster: Bloggers on the Bus: A Conversation with Eric Boehlert – Part 1, Part 2, Part 3. You can tell from comment sections the left is no longer into Obama and merely repeats Obama’s inspiring 2012 slogan: “At least he’s not McCain.” They went from, “Yes, we can!” “Hope! Change! Progress!” and “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for!” to “At least he’s not McCain” in four months.
The other Obot battle cry: "You think Hillary could have done better?"

Hell, even McCain might have done better. He certainly could not have been more conservative.

"At least he's not McCain" means that he isn't much of anything given how much the left loves to hate McCain.

However the second question The other Obot battle cry: "You think Hillary could have done better?" is more interesting. Because a lot of us think she could have, would have done much better.

Guess the bots are working their way around to everyone. When they started with "He's better than Bush" I asked them "Does that really say anything?"

Oh, and congrats to Hillary on your 2009 Alice Award!

Clicked on the link, clicked on the comments link, when they started going after Bob Somerby I navigated away and doubt I'll be back.
You can't reason with the 'bots.
Eff 'em all.

McCain would have done less damage, because he would have faced resistance from Congress and advocacy groups. (This should go without saying, no?)

McCain would have done a helluva lot better and Clinton would have real health care reform passed by now. (and maybe she would have starting chasing the Bush criminals).

Some healing for those who were infatuated with the illusion of hope that the P.R/propaganda orchestra wrapped around Obama; some healing for those who may, by the time they see this, have realized the error of allowing themselves to be swept along into a pile of trouble and the same old shit in a brand new bottle:

McCain and Clinton would not have touched Social Security. They have common sense like that.

Since his fans are the worst Democrats ever, it's little wonder Obama will be known as the Worst Democratic President Ever™.

I knew the Failbots had truly jumped the shark when they started bashing Bob Somerby.

Bob was telling it like it is long before anyone knew what a "blog" was.

Uhh yeah old dem. For one she wouldn't have installed the Geitner/Summers duo!

"At least he's not McCain"

True enough, but at least I have some idea what McCain believes and who he is. I don't agree with him, but I'd know what I was getting.

Yeah, there's the beginning of "walking back" to the absolute "yes, we can" mentality to "he's better than [name of your choice].

The half-hearted walkbacks [which means a walk into reality] doesn't come close to the absolute apology that's owed to the American public by these nutzoids.

Am I bitter? Absolutely. When foul-mouthed fools [Obamatrons} can determine the fate of us all, we've entered a sad, Brave New World. The current Admininstration can massage the numbers all they want, but numbers don't lie. The economy is taking a nosedive, unemployment is rising and interest rates are ready to explode.

Jimmy Carter anyone??

The evidence was there for thinking voters. Apologies don't cut it. The only happy note?

The Obamatrons will suffer with the rest of us.

Fools!

At least McCain would have done further damage to the Republican brand. Obama's trashing the Democratic brand instead. Such progress.

McCain would also have been somewhat restrained by a Dem-majority Congress. Obama instead gets the green light for absolutely anything he wants--which is not the same as, and is often diametrically opposed to, what his fanbase wants, or what Democrats ostensibly want.

Some people I know say they knew The One sucked but voted for him "because what choice did I have?" While disheartening, it still beats one of my friends who says "I voted for the dream." (GAG.)

I always think, "you could have supported the real Democrat in the primaries, or Kucinich, or some third-party candidate of your choice," but then I'd get the whole "that's not realistic" spiel, so I just smile and say "Well, I didn't vote for him, so clearly there WAS a choice."

The bitterness of the Obots will be a stunning thing to see as it matures and flowers.

Precisely, G. And my #1 argument for why I was voting McCain.

At least one advocacy group has been exposing and opposing Obama...CODEPink has been revealing how the White House is putting specific, individual pressure on Dems to vote against their own conscience and continue to fund the war on terra...
