Is it just me, or...

Jen here...

...is Joe Biden looking a little bit worse for wear, lately? I'm scrounging around for a photo that reflects this, but I have yet to find one that appropriately captures what I've noticed about Biden this week.  To me, he looks pared down, and a little scared.

This might be significant, it might not. Maybe Biden's been hearing "rumors" like the one Joe linked to in the post below.

Am I the only one seeing a change there?

Well, the downside would be sharing a ticket with a crook.

The upside would be inheriting the highest office in the land pronto.

The downside of THAT would be fixing an unfixable domestic crisis when your expertise is foreign policy and when your political capital is miniscule.

All depends on WHEN Fitz lets us know what kind of song Tony is singing. I don't think he would name Blago and Obi until after the election.

This is extremely unlikely. Historically the Justice Department has been very reluctant to interfere in presidential politics in this way. So if anything happens, it would be after the election, not before.

Besides, if any indictments were to come down, think of the source. The Bush administration has tarnished the reputation of Justice to such an extent that any probe of Obama would likely increase his political standing.

Campaigning for the presidency requires a schedule that might kill some people. It is wholly exhausting to live on the road, making 3 to 5 campaign stops a day, for months in a row. Biden is 60 plus, in good health and shape to my knowledge (but, relatively so, given his age).

So, does a guy of his age look a little tired now, during the sprint to the finish line? One would imagine so, without reading anything at all into it more than the circumstances.

Biden reminds me of Claus von Bulow.

Maybe I should have clarified that by "tired" and "scared" I meant more like shell-shocked. Dark-eyed, grim, and despairing. I don't love Joe Biden, but I've never been one to criticize his enthusiasm or stamina. After seeing him in a random clip on CNN the other day, though, I felt compelled to say, "I think for him the thrill is gone."
