Sorry for the light posting, but my disk drive has upset my life in a zillion ways. Replacing the damned thing has proven annoying. My mobo won't take SATA drives -- even though it's SUPPOSED to, and even though I can see the SATA connectors as I speak. The only 500 gig external drive I can afford is by Maxtor, the same company which failed me last time. I think the problem with these external drive housings is that they simply run too hot.
