How can they lose?

Riverdaughter has a fine riposte to Donna Brazile (subject of my previous post):
We have all seen by now Donna Brazile’s vile, divisive rhetoric towards what she calls the “old coalition” of the Democratic Party. Apparently women, latinos, and blue collar whites are no longer welcome in the party that they helped to victory in two Presidential campaigns in the 1990’s. In Brazile’s new Democratic Party, only African Americans and well-heeled whites need apply.
If the Democratic party continues to bow to the politics of exclusion being promoted by the likes of Brazile, we need to fight to take our party back. It is our party, by the way. If the African American coalition (which, imo, is part of the “old coalition” too. They’re just being used by the “new guard”) wants to shack up with ex-republicans like Marcos and Arianna, they do so at their own peril. This new coalition can stay if they want, but they better damn well show some respect for those of us who were fighting for democratic causes while they were republicans singing the praises of St. Reagan of California.
America now has a Republican party and an ex-Republican party. We no longer have a Democratic party.

I do have to say Joseph, you have 'jumped the shark' for Hillary. The game is over, support Obama or deal with McBush for four years.

That instant that you know from now on conditions will never be the same. They will only get worse…

What Mr or Ms anonymous coward has yet no comprehension of, is that life is not a TV or movie fantasy.

We human beings have real families and neighbors, we create communities and societies; we make discoveries and produce inventions and technology and pass language and art and technology on to our children, and to future generations. Human life has meaning. We develop moral values.

Just because a chimpanzee can be trained to memorize a sequence and putter it out on a keyboard, we should never suppose that that bit of "cleverness" is evidence that it is capable of discovering ideas or making a creative contribution toward the good. A rock will never be perceived as "ore" to a chimp.

I have always found the sight of an abandoned or lost domestic animal heart-wrenching. It has so learned to depend on its necessities of life magically appearing from its master that when that magic fails to materialize, it is thrown into a pitiful state.

In the jungle, it would die or be eaten alive. In a functioning society it would find nourishment and be given an opportunity to improve its state.

Best of luck to you when you find yourself abandoned, as you most surely will be, anon. Try to remember not to hiss or growl out of fear, you will only alienate those who would otherwise seek to help you.

Actually, Mr. Anonymous Coward wasn't intended to have a presence on this page. I was lax in my persona as Censoring Bastard.

I've gotten a LOT of those messages lately. They all prove my point: Utter gracelessness in victory, or near victory, proves that the Obamabots have turned the Democratic party into a clone of the Republican Party circa 2002.

It is now a party of thugs. Both parties are thug parties. The appalling thing about all thug movements is that they force opponents to be just as thuggish.

It suddenly hit me -- the last itme I encountered this type of thuggishness. It was 2003, just as the Shock and Awe bombardment hit Iraq. Everyone applauded Bush. I told everyone I knew, online and in real life, that this was the worst mistake in American history. At the time, this was not a popular opinion. Even the liberals thought I was crazy to say such a thing.

Now I am similarly convinced that Barack Obama is the worst thing ever to hit the Democratic party. The thought is just as unpopular.

But, as before, time will vindicate my view. I feel positive of that. Either Obama will fail in Novmeber or he will be allowed to preside as the country undergoes total economic collapse.

Either way, the cause of liberalism is doomed.

The other alternative being, of course, that Senator Clinton will prevail.
