The Siegelman scandal: What are they hiding?

According to Larisa Alexandrovna, the Siegelman affair -- in which Karl Rove stands accused of using a politicized Department of Justice to bring an unwarranted criminal prosecution against a Democratic governor -- threatens to turn into one of those stories about the media.

You don't have to read between the lines to get her message: CBS News has learned Something Big -- and current Governor Bob Riley has bragged that he can stop CBS from reporting this Something Big.

Thus, Larisa offers this threat:
By the time part V of our series runs, CBS will either have aired the story or killed it quietly hoping no one would notice. But just so we are all clear, I know what CBS is sitting on and although I am not investigating that angle, I will not hesitate to scoop their story if they don't stand by their promise to give their sources the protection of public exposure. I will not hesitate for a moment to also include CBS corporate as part of my story either.
You don't often see journalists use words of that sort in public.

More than that. As you know, whistleblower Dana Jill Simpson has testified to the conspiracy to "get" Siegelman.
...I am hearing from multiple sources that the whistle-blower in the case, Dana Jill Simpson is now under investigation by US Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, Alice Martin and that Ms. Martin is having Ms. Simpson tailed.
(Emphases added.) Smell that aroma? Someone is cooking up one mighty potent pot of chili.

The three largest newspapers plus the Internet site al.com in Alabama are owned by Advance Publications, Inc. Advance Publications Inc. is owned by Samuel Irving Newhouse Jr. and his brother Donald Newhouse.

They literally print nothing but lies about all Democrats in the state. They will not allow their investigative reporters any access to these cases. If they would have investigated and printed the truth about Don Siegelman (Jewish) like the locally own papers done the Canary’s would have been run out of the state by its citizens before now.

It has taken a few months, but most Alabamians now know the truth about their good friend Don Siegelman, about the conspiracy that removed the most popular Democrat in Alabama by Bush’s appointees and how his elections were taken from him.

These three newspaper instruct their writers to start every article that they write about Siegelman with this statement, “our newspapers endorsed Riley and we believe Siegelman to be a crook” then they twist every sentence after that to sound negative.

Many of us are dropping our subscriptions and are switching to locally owned newspapers.

Actually, three investigative journalist did interview Simpson. Two thought she was too crazy to actually go on record. One posted the interview on al.com. http://blog.al.com/bn/2007/10/in_her_own_words_audio_files_o.html

Decide for yourself.
