Don't Back Down - End the War!

John Edwards is sponsoring this petition drive. The words below the asterisks are not mine, although I agree with the sentiment. GO HERE TO SEND A MESSAGE.

Congress has reached a fork in the road on the war in Iraq, and they urgently need to choose the right path. Will Congress revert to more endless extensions, or will they use real funding power to send back a binding plan to end the war?

Congress took the right first step by passing their last funding bill setting a timetable for withdrawing our troops from Iraq. But following Bush's veto the resolve in Washington has started to fade. If Congress is going to find the courage to end the war, they're going to need to get it from you.

We've reached our initial goal of 100,000 Americans calling on Congress to stand up to Bush and end the war. But we need to keep climbing. Only massive, direct public pressure will get Congress to choose the right path. At crucial moments like this, it's our duty to stand up and speak out.

Tell your Member of Congress to stand up to President Bush and not write another blank check for an endless war in Iraq!

I've already begun e-mailing my congressman on a regular basis...especially when headlines mention more U.S. deaths in Iraq. If they don't hear from us, the people, then they'll never take action. If everyone does it, regularly, then they have to stand up and take notice. And we owe it to all of those whose lives have been sacrificed and to those whose lives might be spared.

Write your congressman or congresswoman. Today. Now. Go to www.house.gov and let them know how you feel. Please!
