According to the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Pope Benedict XVI has invited the 83-year-old former adviser to Richard Nixon to be a political consultant, and Kissinger has accepted.Judging from Kissinger's previous hisory, those Swiss Guard are going to need to upgrade their weaponry. Pikes and halbards won't suffice.

When I first heard this story, I thought it must be a gag. But no, here it is in the National Catholic Register (and it is referenced on the front page of same):

This fits in with the sinister look this pope displays. He looks like the evil emperor in the Star Wars trilogy. I have heard many people state their dismay at the apparent evil that displays across this man's face.
Sure, he may be simply the victim of the genetics of his face, but then again, his last job was to head up the Inquisition in its current form.
