Oh, the Dixie Chicks are just so way cool!!
Just watched them on Chris Matthews, who asked them a lot of questions about the infamous "comment" and the subsequent ban on their records by Cox and Cumulus radio companies, and their new film, Shut Up and Sing. God love 'em - Natalie kept bringing it back, over and over again, that it was all because of media consolidation!
There she was, trying to make the point, time and again, and Chris kept trying to make it about the fans hating them. And she kept at it, repeating, no it was a corporate decision, it came from on high, some individuals made this decision.
And then, after Chris kept pressing her (he even tried to undercut them because they didn't know where the headquarters of these companies are! jeez), Natalie laid it out in such real terms, explaining that the regular family has about 30 minutes to do the news each day, and if one person owns the paper, the radio, the TV stations, they can't get the truth, only a one-sided opinion.
And you could just tell Chris was thrown off, not expecting to have to field this media taboo hot potato on the air. Chuckle.
It was just terrific. I am so proud.

AURGH. You would not believe how long it took to open up the comments section. Grrrr.
I love the Dixie Chicks!!! Even though it took me two weeks to figure out what "that" song was about. Because I have a little too much information in my brain. No idea how it's staying on the air .
