Where will YOU live after the round-up?

Halliburton has received massive contracts to build domestic detention centers. This site carries a fun-n-convenient listing of these concentration camps. Now you can get an advanced glimpse of your new home...

I'm hoping for Fort Ord. It's near the ocean, and the weather's always pleasant. With my luck, though, I'll probably get 29 Palms....
There over 800 prison camps in the United States, all fully operational and ready to receive prisoners. They are all staffed and even surrounded by full-time guards, but they are all empty. These camps are to be operated by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) should Martial Law need to be implemented in the United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a proclamation and the attorney general's signature on a warrant to which a list of names is attached.
Thanks to Covert History for the tip...

Well, think of all the interesting
people you'll meet.

That congressional letter was dated 1997. As much as I'd like to blame the current raft of wackos in power for the modern manifestation of this concept, let alone its inception, I guess I can't.

The really scary thing about this story is that the camps will be run by that heck of an agency, FEMA. Lets see, run by FEMA, catered by KBR… Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me.

i'd like to have been able to blame the current administration for this round-up as well, and find that i cannot. i am thinking back to 1997, and what was happening then that would have pushed the government to build such camps and i've yet to come up with anything reasonable. there was a time when some wanted to round-up hiv positive people and put them away, but that date puts it well into the 16th year of AIDS as we know it today. odd to think clinton's administration had some sinister plan, not that he was such a pristine president. things were a lot better under his command, however he made his mistakes as well.

sadly, the prisons do exists now, and it wouldn't take much for the current administration to put them to use. they've certainly been monitoring enough of their own citizenry to know who will end up in these camps.
