President George W Bush intends to build an "umbrella of Arab allies" against Hezbollah while giving Israel a free hand in attacking the group's strongholds, according to American officials.(Emphasis added.) "Sunni Arab opposition to..." ARE THEY KIDDING? Don't these sub-turkeys know who is running Iraq these days?
White House aides have said they consider the Lebanon crisis to be a "leadership moment" for Mr Bush and an opportunity to proceed with his post-September 11 plan to reshape the Middle East by building Sunni Arab opposition to Shia terrorism. Yesterday Mr Bush cited the role of Iran and Syria in providing help to Hezbollah.
And do we have any evidence that this "umbrella" exists, or ever could exist? Despite the history of antagonism between Shi'ite and Sunni, I very much doubt that any Islamic state wants to see the U.S. drop nukes on any other Islamic state. Such an attack could destabilize every government in the region.
Obviously, this story is part of a larger propaganda campaign designed to convince the dullards that the Main Foe is and has always been the Shi'ites of Iran. We are being prepped for an attack.

Joe, Sorry to go off topic, but I thought you just had to see this DU post, given your role in "Promptergate." A DUer mentioned the recent photo in which Bush seems to be slapping an African American Congressman at the recent NAACP meeting. The poster basically says, you were so busy looking at the slap you failed to see the earpiece in shrub's ear!

PS -- Is there a better way to get tips to you than making a comment that is irrelevant to your blog?
Joseph,
I am not sure about the angle "Whiskey Bar" has but the idea was discussed in detail in an article by Jonathan Cutler called "The Devil Wears Persian" and you can find it at Znet www.zmag.org
I did bring this article up in a comment on your post "What is the Real Reason for the War on Lenanon" . I did ask for opinion on the premise of the article, but no one replied to it.
Methinks the end game is to create all out civil war throughout the Middle East, to allow massive destruction on both sides, and then allow the U.S. and Israel to come in and take over. It, indeed, will be a long war. A bloody war. A disgusting war. And it's exactly what the neo-cons and the Israelis have wanted for a long, long time.
There was a time not too long ago when I took pride in being an American. The myriad actions of our leaders over the past 5-6 years, however, have instilled in me nothing but pure shame. They are, bit by bit, destroying what most of us have believed in since we were children. And it disgusts me to no end.
