Heller's in trouble. From his web page:
Stephen Heller is a whistleblower; he is alleged to have seen and then exposed legal documents proving that Diebold Election Systems, Inc., the country's leading manufacturer of electronic voting machines and voting machine software, was using illegal, uncertified software in their California voting machines, thereby defrauding the state of California, the taxpayers of California, and disenfranchising the voters of California. On February 21, 2006, Stephen was charged in Los Angeles Superior Court with 3 felonies: felony access to computer data, commercial burglary and receiving stolen property. He pleaded not guilty. This is an outrageous abuse of the law and of power.The guy happened to come across these incriminating documents while working a temporary gig in the offices of the lawyers used by Diebold. Heller doesn't have much money. But he does have a whole lot of legal bills.
And that's why some people of good will are trying to help the guy out. If you live in Southern California area and you're looking for something to do on Friday, you may want to check out an extremely well-reviewed and popular piece of comedic theater called Straight Up With a Twist. Keep in mind that Diebold has charged Heller with 3 felonies! just because he blew the whistle on them. Our current Regime (bushco) is repealing whistleblower protections ASAP.
god, no kidding. this latest decision by the lowdown supremes sends chills down my spine.
we may have a harder time dealing with this court than getting the repugs out of dc.
...and it dawns on me how this court decision will slam sibel edmonds, whose case likely holds more danger to this administration and the entire repug roster.
just like this facade of outrage over the fbi raid on wm. jefferson's office in the house, this decision is designed to protect all the criminals at the top.
