The John Conyers monument

Nope. Not big enough.

That's not big enough either.

Getting closer...

There. That's just about the right size. Of course, we'll need two.

Good thing SOMEONE in D.C. still has a pair!

The Honorable John Conyers is a true red-white-and-blue hero. And after the Dems sweep the Congressional races next year, he's going to be chairman of the House Judiciary Committee! Whoopeee! Gonna buy me a TIVO machine.

Hee. I understand the impulse, Anon 9:46, but--a word to the wise: TiVO is evil. I spent much of 2002 in a TiVO-induced stupor of rage, disbelief and escapist depression. And that was during my apathetic phase! I don't know what I would have done if I'd cared to be TiVO-ing governmental happenings back then. Killed myself? I'm only half-kidding here, bud. If you have an addictive personality--settle for recording Conyers footage in one of the old-fashioned ways. It might save your soul.

The 'honorable' John Conyers is selling the US out to the Jihadists, and you and yours are setting yourselves up for second-class status as Dhimmis to the muslims who will be ruling your lives, if people of your mindset ever get back into power.

Last time I checked, the U.S. had a president who believes (or claims to believe) that a supernatural being intervenes in daily life, and offers him personal counsel and purpose (not to mention tax cuts). This same president is dispensing tax-payer money to religious organizations who routinely assert that those who don't accept its preposterous teachings will burn in hell for an eternity, and that such heretics are due no deference or consideration in this current world.

You probably admire such leadership. I'd merely point out that the jihadists are already here (perhaps you're one of them?), and that the only thing between them and a wahabi Christian theocracy as bad as anything in the Middle-East is the hated secular humanists and the despised U.S. Constitution.

So if you are really hate the Jihadists, what are you doing in the Bush camp? Then again, don't bother to answer, we've already had quite enough of the usual blather, alarmism and hypocrisy.

Back in the sixties a certain flavor of nut claimed the North Vietnamese were going to be marching into Topeka if we didn't stop them at Khe Sanh. Things don't change much, do they.

Actually, this same guy has been visiting this blog for a while now, always singing the same song: Those horrible, horrible Muslims are coming, and they will conquer and convert us unless we let Bush run this country into the ground. It seems to me that religious hatred -- the epic vision of Christianity vs. Isalm -- is the only arrow the Bushites have left in their quiver.
