What if Judy Miller bit off her editor's nipples?

Read this semi-apologia from NYT editor Bill Keller, and then tell me: Why does Judith Miller still have a job? What does this woman have to do to get fired -- bite off Keller's nipples?

Or would her editor still make excuses for her?

"I wish that when I learned Judy Miller had an unfortunate tendency toward spontaneous outbursts of cannibalism, I had sat her down for a thorough debriefing, and followed up with some reporting of my own. It is a natural and proper instinct to defend reporters when they exhibit behaviors they cannot fully control. At the time of the nipple-biting incident, the paper had just been through a major trauma, the Jayson Blair episode, and needed to regain its equilibrium. It felt somehow unsavory to begin a tenure by punishing a reporter for a single incident in which she showed a lack of decorum."

I don't trust NY Times ex-editor Bill Keller one bit...

Don't get me wrong, I love the Times, but it has been under Keller that the Times has been used to propagate the Bush "message" on so many occasions ...thats WMD lies, politics, etc.etc.... The Times has also been used to cover the administrations ass on numerous occasions.

Remember how the Times (specifically Keller) killed the pre-election story about that Presidential Bulge? It happened right after a personal meeting with none other than Karl Rove (and some cocktails).

It's clear, Keller seems to do the administration's bidding when asked. It doesn't surprise me at all that he would continue to back Judith Miller... even after all the questions and revelations. They should both be fired.

This White House will really stop at nothing... scripted teleconferences, pressuring editors, paying pundits, fake journalists, planted stories... outing CIA agents... the list goes on.

To me, all of this shows a really well thought out, possibly illegal, propaganda effort by the administration. Somebody has to be IN CHARGE of it.

My hunch is that ALL of it comes from Rove and the ol' Office of Strategic Inititives team which has probably had it's dirty hands in everything from from election fraud, to fake WMD's, to the Plame fiasco. The OSI is basically one-stop shopping for all your sleazy political needs. In true Bush fashion, he's Wall Mart'ed the Watergate "plumbers".

I think the (possible) indictments coming down from Fitzgerald are basically going to blow the lid off of this "team". How deep it'll go is anyone's guess. Word has it that Rove covered his ass with his latest testimony, and passed the buck towards Cheney... who make take the fall for all this. we'd get a new VP who'd be a vialable canditate for '08 (Romney?)... whatever.

Why does she still have a job...hmmmm...could it for a reason as simple as the reason I think Michael Brown is still drawing a fucking paycheck? Some people don't like to admit their mistakes. Ever. Egocentricity is a one of the worst deficiencies any human being can have.
