It really is the most important story of our time

Buzzflash has trumpeted the not-so-secret planned war with Iran. The link takes us to this page.

"The use of force is the last option for any president. You know we have used force in the recent past to secure our country," he said in a clear reference to Iraq.

"I have been willing to do so as a last resort in order to secure the country and provide the opportunity for people to live in free societies," he added.

Bush was speaking from his ranch in Crawford, Texas to a reporter from Israeli public television. The Jewish state has accused Iran of seeking to acquire nuclear weapons and believes it is the prime target of the alleged arms program.
And here come the Israelis, using threats against masculinity as a means to manipulate the big kid into doing their fighting for them. Classic playground maneuver:

"Iran made this decision because they are getting the impression that the United States and the Europeans are spineless," a senior official from Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's office said on Tuesday.
By what right is Israel allowed nukes forbidden to Iran? Israel has demonstrated a willingness to march into other countries and acquire territory. Iran has not.

In a sense, the war has already started, since we have had special ops guys within Iran for some time now. They could not operate as they do without help from the inside. Here we have another indicator that there are forces within Tehran working with the neocons.

Again, the question rises: How could we invade Iran if our troops are stretched so thin? Again, I proffer the obvious answer: The neocons must stage another terrorist incident. A big one. Big enough to create a public clamor for the re-institution of the draft. I suspect that a "data mining" operation similar to the one discussed recently will provide the necessary "proof" of Iran's guilt.

Joseph: An FYI, just in case you didn't encounter this previously. (Doubtful.) Proof?? These NeoConNazis "don't need no stinking proof!"; they just make it up as they go along. Any more, they hardly even *bother* to conceal their vicious scheming: Deep Background [The American Conservative, August 1, 2005 Issue] --- In Washington it is hardly a secret that the same people in and around the administration who brought you Iraq are preparing to do the same for Iran. The Pentagon, acting under instructions from Vice President Dick Cheney's office, has tasked the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) with drawing up a contingency plan to be employed in response to another 9/11-type terrorist attack on the United States. The plan includes a large-scale air assault on Iran employing both conventional and tactical nuclear weapons. Within Iran there are more than 450 major strategic targets, including numerous suspected nuclear-weapons-program development sites. Many of the targets are hardened or are deep underground and could not be taken out by conventional weapons, hence the nuclear option. As in the case of Iraq, the response is not conditional on Iran actually being involved in the act of terrorism directed against the United States. Several senior Air Force officers involved in the planning are reportedly appalled at the implications of what they are doing -- that Iran is being set up for an unprovoked nuclear attack -- but no one is prepared to damage his career by posing any objections. ...

Why do you make it so complicated? A big terrorist attack followed by massive public support. Just as opinion is showing people more and more _blame Bush_ for terrorism. No, a big terrorist attack would not be to gain support, but an excuse for ditching the constitution. Although popular support is always good to have, these fiends do not depend on it.

And, to answer your question that I've copied above, you make liberal use of nuclear weapons. I don't know that the method would work, but that aspect has never stopped these freaks.

HEADS UP! My, what a "convenient", timely leak. (And lucky for Bush that he's just coincidentally off on a month-long vacation, eh?) The plot sickens: Leaked US intelligence document warning of terrorist attacks on London and America using fuel tankers ---- Al Qaeda leaders plan to employ various types of fuel trucks as vehicle borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED) in an effort to cause mass casualties in the US (and London), prior to 19 September. Attacks are planned specifically for New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. It is unclear whether the attacks will occur simultaneously or be spread over a period of time. The stated goal is the collapse of the US economy. ... [But what is the *actual* goal -- "justification" for an attack against Iran??]
