For those few of you checking in...

I had a horrible dream last night. In it, someone showed me a newspaper, dated 2024. The headline read: "President Jenna Bush Makes Horse Senator."

I woke up in a cold sweat -- and then I realized that since no-one in the Bush family has read history, no-one in that family would make any attempt to re-live it.

At any rate: Yes, I've been absent from blog-land for a very long time, and may be absent for a bit longer. Eventually, I hope to re-establish a presence. Right now, life has tossed an obstruction in my path. It's not the sort of thing that will keep me stuck in place for long.

See you soon...

Hey. I'm one of those still checking in, a couple of times a day even. Thanks for the heads up, and don't worry, when you have time to return, we'll be here waiting.

As for your dream, I actually found it to be a positive one, as horses tend to lean left-- partly due to affinity with the Democrat donkey, and partly because of the animal rights thing. Jenna's horse could be the only non-Republican in the Senate.

Maybe no one in the Bush family has read history, but that didn't stop George W. from majoring in history at Yale University.

Joe,
Your incisive commentary and sardonic wit are much appreciated, whenever and however often you post. Yours in Curlytude,

Dude,
unfortunately life sometimes takes precedence. Deal with that part, then get back to the fun stuff. We'll wait and think positive thoughts while we're doing it. Just don't lose the fire. We gotta nail these bastards.

How much longer before you're back? Hurry! I think more people read your words than you think.

I don't know who you are, how old you are, where you live, or what you do for a living--but I hope you make your living from your words, intellect and wit.

P.S. Hope your obstruction isn't serious.

I hope you're are coming back soon--you are more missed by more people than you realize, I'm sure.

I don't know who you are, how old you are, or what you do for a living--I hope you use your sense of humor, wit, intelligence, and very good writing skills in your profession.

Hope the obstruction is short-lived.

(Yes, it sounds like a story you've heard before, but this is new, in a new county with brand new allegations)
