Not long ago, Karl Rove told Sean Hannity "We've got a couple of surprises that we intend to spring." Perhaps we can glimpse the outlines of one of those surprises.
Across the country, Bush campaign headquarters have been shot at, attacked, and burgled. None of these attacks have prospered the Kerry campaign in any way. Each incident has admirably served Karl Rove's propaganda purposes. In a previous election, he once staged a "bugging" of his own candidate.
One of the most recent office assaults took place in Knoxville, Tennessee, where a drive-by shooter put two rounds into a Bush/Cheney headquarters. As we have noted in one of yesterday's post, this same office played a key role in an apparent hoax connected to the "mystery bulge" controversy. The purpose of the hoax remains unclear. I suspect that the intention was to sidetrack any investigators looking into the issue, just as legitimate concerns over Bush's National Guard service were sidetracked by the CBS debacle.
Another senseless attack took place at the Charlestown, South Carolina G.O.P. office. News reporters covering that story dealt with the mysterious Phil Parlock, previously linked to a number of obviously-faked "attacks" by alleged Democrats. In one of these attacks, Parlock's son played the role of a violently enraged unionist.
"Enraged unionists" from the AFL-CIO allegedly spearheaded mob action against various Bush offices on October 5. While these apparently began as legitimate protests, everyone old enough to recall the protests of the '60s will know the danger of the agent provocateur.

Here's some interesting information about some of the Sinclair Broadcasting Group's Board of Directors. The group's Chairman and CEO, David Smith, has a background in the manufacture of "high power transmitters." Two other Board members, probably his brothers Smith, have backgrounds in the installation of these transmitters. One other Board member, probably the other brother (Smith, again), used to be an oral and and maxillofacial surgeon. This information is posted on their website, unless they've scrubbed it by now. Let's see now, what could be a possible connection? Mmm. Karl are you listening? What frequency are we on?
I'm not a conspiracy freak, but like many, have sense enough to know that "bulgegate" is way beyond a conspiracy theory at this point. In fact, IsBushWired.com is one of the 5 most frequently visited sites on Netscape as of this morning.
I can't help but believe that the media must be intimidated by the Bush Propaganda machine. Wonder what would happen if it were Kerry who had all these mysterious "bulges" cropping up. Oh, that's right. Kerry actually has a triple digit IQ and is able to speak in complete sentences unassisted. I almost forgot, but then, that's the point, isn't it? Keep us "sheep" so distracted that we barely have time to ponder the differences between nuisance and a nuance.
For the sake of truth and clarity, Parlock is a West Virginian and the Republican headquarters he claimed was attacked is in Charleston, WV, not in South Carolina. I realize this is not a particularly important point, but when we are dealing with liars and obfuscators on the scale of the rabid right wing, it seems to me that every small error of fact counts.

As to the Attacks on Bush/Cheney HQ's across the country, let's not forget that Kerry's HQ's (especially in the south) have been attacked, signs torn down, etc. In one incident, an HQ was attacked and the wondows broken, and a small fire made from Kerry signs was lit at the door.
As to the Tennessee incident, i read it on a news station website shortly after it happened. This one is interesting because far from being a Rove-inspired act, the staion reported that while all the cops were over at the Bush HQ, the bank across the street was robbed.

I agree that Rove will stop at nothing, but the Tenn attack takes the cake. Maybe someone should investigate the others to see how many robberies/burglaries took place when the incidents happened.
