Biden scandal

I'm not sure how to handle this information. It comes to me from a source I trust. Seriously: I trust this source the way I would trust a close family member.

Right now, I'm going to play it cryptic.

According to the source, Joe Biden is having a secret affair with a rather well-known lady, whom I will call L. The lady has had several liaisons with the celebrated. The affair may soon be revealed by the major media -- although I do not know if that revelation will happen before or after the election.

I'm not sure how to pursue the matter, or even if I should. I like Joe Biden. I like him a hell of a lot more than I like Obama or McCain. Frankly, if Biden were at the top of the ticket, I would not be writing this post. I'd allow someone else to make public his private sins.

But he's not at the top of the ticket, and I'm no fan of the guy who is.

Obama may come into some serious trouble after the election. As several news stories out of Chicago have made clear, Obama's political patron, crime boss Tony Rezko, is singing like Boris Christoff in a hot shower. Many believe that the lyrics mention Barack Obama. Conceivably, that process could keep Obama out of the Oval Office even if he wins the election. Which would give the presidency to Biden. Which would be fine by me.

But...what about L?

If scandal hits both Obama and Biden after inauguration, then the presidency might go to Nancy Pelosi, up with whom I am quite fed. (How's that for not ending a sentence with a preposition?)

I don't know how to proceed!

I will never understand the lovefest with Biden. His partition idea was God-awful. He's fine, but I like nearly all voters in the primaries he has participated in don't want him to be President. But you need to give us a little more than "L".

Obama doesn't seem like the type to resign without being forced (so I think if he wins he'd be inaugurated). And, an affair wouldn't disqualify Biden from taking over if Obama was impeached. . . Would it?

I pray that McCain wins this election.

However, if he does not, I predict that the media will turn on Obama after he's in office. It's a lovefest now but that won't last if this Biden affair turns out to be true and Rezko is willing to talk to the press about his relationship with Obama. Obama's candidacy is like a volcano ready to erupt at any time. It's unbelievable that Obama was never vetted by the media or the DNC and Biden never admitted this affair to Obama before he chose him. What is wrong with these people.

Look, I can't help liking the guy personally, but I've not forgotten that he was instrumental in getting the loathesome Clarence Thomas on the SCOTUS, and in getting the ghastly bankruptcy bill passed.

Joseph there's no question that of Obama/Biden & McCain/Palin, Biden is my favorite. But, that's not saying much. I've decided that I'm not voting for anyone that voted for the Bale Out.

Which has taken ALL the grief out of my life. You might be amazed at how willingly people accept that criteria. Sadly, it puts a lot of Democrats out of bounds.....

Now you are letting blind affection cloud your judgement. (I've always like Joe as well but I remember the Clarence Thomas hearings and he didn't exactly shine.)

It sounds like they already know what the crisis is gonna be and that Obama will make decisions about it that will be beyond the pale (although not beyond the support of the Obamabots.

Please put this guy--and us--out of our misery.

Not only do I agree that honesty is the best policy, but if he resigns, Senator Obama may be forced to add Senator Clinton to the ticket in order to get elected. (After the election, he might add someone really unpalatable.) Also, remember that an affair took Edwards out of the running. If Senator Biden stayed mum that he too was having an affair, it really stinks. (Yes, Edwards had problems, but he spoke up for the poor and had a better health plan than that of Obama/Biden.)

By the way, the housing market might not have tanked as much as if did, if Senator Biden had not pushed the bankruptcy bill through...

It was acceptable for opera singers to have terrible French back in the day. I have a great recording of Franco Corelli and Mirelli Freni singing "Romeo et Juliette." The singing is glorious. The words are indecipherable.

I think your admiration for Biden is misplaced -- Biden is not a friend of the little guy, he is the friend of the credit card companies & he was behind that god-awful bankruptcy reform laws which have really hurt consumers. I am a bankruptcy attorney & trust me I see the effect of 35% interest rates (which we can thank Biden for) on credit cards every day. Plus, I remember Anita Hill -- Biden was in charge of that fiasco & if he had allowed Anita Hill to call her supporting witnesses we might not have Clarence Thomas on the USSC.

ahahah, this could get good. Over a year ago, a reporter at the LA Times told me that they had two tales of obama running around - one with a student and one with a campaign volunteer. I believe we're beginning to hear the rumblings of the campaign volunteer story though I do not know from which campaign the story springs.

As for the Biden defense, he's no John Kerry. LOL However, he would be an improvement over Obama, McCain or Palin. And, as i say this, let me note that Colin Powell's reason for endorsing obama appears to be that McCain wasn't quite corrupt enough for him. Sad, but, I'm betting, ultimately, true.

My order of preference for these four is Biden/McCain/Palin/Obama. Palin would be a blast to have in the White House. Think of the reality show.

From that picture, and the letter "L", I'd say Linda Thompson. Was having an affair with Elvis in '72, and said in her Larry King interview:
"He (Elvis) got calls from Frank Sinatra and President Nixon. He would have me go to the phone and say, is this really President Nixon?"
She's about 10 years younger than Joe. She was also married to Bruce Jenner, and David Foster.

I have no idea who he is talking about and I don't give a damn if he jumbled his words. This is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I find his smarmy comment to be offensive. "Horribly over-rated breast cancer surviving"?

He needs to learn to type or he needs to apologize.

This is the wrong month to be pulling that nonsense and it needs to be made clear that 'jokes' about women with breast cancer aren't funny.

That may be the case, but it also may not be.

Here are the (almost) exact words of what was told to me:

"[X] told me he was having an affair with a friend of [X's] and [X] wouldn't doubt if it hit the media soon."

In this version of the text sent to me, have replaced the pronoun with the letter X because I do not wish to disclose whether X is a male or a female. (Yes, men and women can be friends.) I will say that I personally know X myself, and that I would gladly place my life in the hands of X. And X is in a position to know some well-known individuals.

Naturally, I cannot expect you to trust someone whose name you do not know. I state this simply to explain why I place such trust in X.

Sorry to be all algebraic on you.

I will never, ever divulge the name of X. Indeed, part of the reason why I suspect that I should not bring up this matter again has to do with my vow not to reveal X.

I have, on the other hand, given some clue to the identity of L.

The statement above indicates that someone in the media also knows who L is. But this does not mean that the name is known to the RNC or the DNC, or that L would have come up during the vetting process.

I also have no reason to believe that L is anything but a nice person. I don't want to hurt her or her family. That's another reason why I hesitate to take the matter any further.

I have not told you all that I know but I have told you as much as I dare at this time.

The clue is in the Elvis and Nixon picture. L is for Linda Thompson an old girl friend of Elvis. Why is a mystery. Some women find Old Joe irrestible though and maybe Miss Linda just couldn't resist his charms.Stranger things have happened but this election season has seen more than it's share.

I have not asked you to name your source and would not expect that. But if this information will likely come out anyway, better now than after the election, when Senator Obama will be unfettered in who he might select to be VP. In fact, I would not put it past him to choose a Senator Biden to reassure some voters, knowing he has a problem that will give him an excuse to throw him under the bus after the election and select a person he likes better.

The thing about Biden is is he is a relic of the Kennedy apparatus and is old enough to think you can get away with affairs
like the old days...then there is his gaffe attacks, that just increase as he gains more spotlight. Yesterday's amazing blabber mouth moment, a case in point. There is a fault line there that gives in tough moments. IMO Biden is no prize....which is why Obama choose him. He would hardly want someone good....but in the Dem elite , once you delete Hillary , WHO else was there?

I've never understood why everyone was so happy with Biden as VP - particularly if he should ascend to the top office should BO be unable to complete his term due to handcuffs.

Remember: Biden has run twice for POTUS and gotten, what, 175,000 votes TOTAL? I mean, we had our chance to put him in at the top and voted loudly NO.

Joseph, you and I massively disagree on most things political, but I did respect you a lot during the whole faked birth certificate brouhaha. You didn't let your political disgust with Obama sabotage your skeptic alarm, and you saw right through the TD/Techdude bullshit.

Which is why this post is disappointing. From what you've written above, even if you named the lady, your source, and what exactly was said, you're still just passing on hearsay; you have no actual evidence. How is that any different from what Larry Johnson or Drudge would do? This strikes me as rumormongering in the hopes that something will stick.

Your analogy to Deep Throat doesn't really work, as Woodward & Bernstein never relied solely on Deep Throat. They used him to find other evidence they could print, in addition to his anonymous statements. Here you're not providing us with any evidence, just the anonymous statement. You can't blame anyone for being highly skeptical.

Biden doesn't act like he's playing with a full deck about half the time. He's one of those guys that seems like fun at a party when he gets about three sheets to the wind but that isn't the guy I'd want answering the 3 AM phone call. He was right when he said Hillary would have made a better vp. If Obama/Biden get elected, I'd jump in front of a bullet to keep Obama from getting killed! And since I'm not voting for Obama, that's saying how scared I am of Biden becoming President. Even Kucinich got more votes than he did!!

No offense but I'm really sick and tired of all the hinting around and game playing going on. If you know something and have to let everyone you know something then spill it. This is getting ridiculous. API has a tape...but you can't listen to it. Martin knows that Obama is the son of Davis...but won't tell how he knows. Berg has a tape of Sarah Obama, but you can't listen to it either. Steve what's his name knew Biden was going to be dumped for Hillary but he couldn't say how he know. Now you have information about a Biden affair and you are playing games. ENOUGH...seriously, either tell what you know in full or just keep it to yourself.
