Malarky from Markos

The Washington Post looks into the origins of "Sarah had Bristol's baby" rumor.
When Markos Moulitsas saw that one of the contributors to his liberal blog was accusing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin of lying about her 4-month-old baby, he was a bit skeptical.

"I feel a little weird about the questions being asked," he says. "But I also feel a little weird about saying, 'Shut up, people.' It takes a lot for me to step in and squash what's on Daily Kos."

In less than 48 hours, the allegations by a Kos diarist known as ArcXIX ricocheted into the mainstream media...
He feels weird about saying "Shut up"? Bullshit, Moulitsas. You had no problem shutting up anyone who tried to combat the incessant smears against Bill and Hillary Clinton published in your Cheeto-hued cyber-rag. Remember the "darkened video" smear? The RFK smear? The "fairy tale" smear? The NAFTA smear, in which the Cheeto-heads falsely ascribed Obama's real backdoor chicanery to Hillary Clinton?

Lots of people tried to knock sense into the Kossacks. And Moulitsas told 'em to shut up.

What about the rest of the article Joe?

Especially where it reads: "some media commentators say Palin is fair game, not just because she is running for national office but because she is a self-described "hockey mom" who told the nation that her eldest son is headed to Iraq. "Once she's brought her children in as selling points, unfortunately the bad comes in with the good," says Lisa Bloom, a Court TV anchor. "She's integrating her mom quality as a key part of her résumé. We didn't do that in the press; she did that."

Not only has she used her kids since she showed up (and not just 18 year old going to Iraq, or the hockey... also using poor baby Trig for the anti abortion Christian message), but she is also the one who says even if raped she would want her daughter to carry the rapist's baby to term, and worse yet, she is the one sticking her nose into sex education(!) So at this point, whether it's Bristol's 1st or 2nd kid, it really shows that her idea of abstinence-only sex education is useless.... so if it's not fair game, then really nothing is.

It's one thing point out the misogyny of a team screaming Bitch Cunt and Whore, but to then call anything said against a bible thumping gun toting abstinence only candidate as misogynistic is crazy.

It is far less misogynistic to stop Palin than it is to allow her policies to get implemented. How misogynistic would it be to force raped women to have babies? To force women to have Down Syndrome kids? And worse of all how misogynistic is it to force teenage girls (not the ones who's mommies are governors, but poor teenage girls) to have babies?

It's getting really psycho now. The anti-prog democrats are now suffering from a strange Political Correctness Syndrome. Willing to loose anything, and pave the way for Bush III, because you don't like the fight. Much better to be like Kerry or Gore, right? Remember what you said about people who voted for Nader? Do you really want to have a war with Iran and Russia?? Is little Bristol worth all that?

you're so right. what's tragic is that they truly can't help themselves because this is who they really are, as they're proving for all to see. why do i have the feeling the repubs were betting on that? the gop couldn't have asked for a better narrative--and just in time to save themselves from electoral disaster--to paint us as crazy, unstable hypocrites.

Remember the Drudge rag?

The FR bone's connected to the Drudge bone!

The Drudge bone's connected to the Fox bone!

Or something to that effect.

We should be so proud. We're finally starting to grow our own Wurlitzer and it's focusing, as the original did, on worthless shit.

I'm starting to hate the Dems as much as the Pubs.

apart from you, who cares about what Markos says ?

If you look at their current traffic (on alexa.com), DailyKOS is a minor player compared to huffingtonpost.com or even worse, foxnews.com

And please tell me how No Quarter USA is better than Daily KOS, are they spreading better smears or is simply because they are on the "right side"?

The story may have started at KOS but it got "legs" at Democratic Underground. Even when they saw photos of Palin pregnant they didn't want to believe it...."maybe she was using a pillow."

"It's getting really psycho now."

Truer words no troll has ever uttered.

Whenever I see a troll ranting about whatever topic is on their outrage of the day email from Axelrod, I can't help but think of angry chihuahuas.

Yap Yap Yap until they get banned, they they comeback tomorrow and start again.

Obama is a cancer on the party. It's unbelievable how things have deteriorated ever since he appeared on the scene.

It wasn't DU that started it; it was Kos.

More people actually read Daily Kos than than read DU.

Lee I've got to admit that your post is a pitiful attempt to rationalize ethically challenged behavior. Engaging in character assissination of children, spouses, or other family members is completely revolting no matter who does it and should never, ever be rewarded. At this point I don't think anyone should vote for Obama due to the behavior of his surrogates and followers. The things that people like Jesse Jackson, Jr. have said and done makes my hair stand up. Fair or not, to reward Obama is to reward them same as voting for Bush was to reward the RW attack machine. As a matter of discourse though I think you got your Bush III president wrong. Obama is Bush III. McCain is a completely different animal all together. He is a legitimate conservative who is closer to the center than Obama is. The thing is we don't even know what Obama's real positions are because he has EARNED that nickname, backtrack.
