God bless our Satanists

Ah, those lovable funsters at the Satanic Temple are at it again!

When a Florida school district allowed the handing out of Bibles and other Christian materials at schools, the Satanists fought for the right to hand out pro-Satan coloring/activity books to children. As a result, the Jesus-addled doofs in Florida have begun to see the problem with their little scheme.

I don't know how the Satanists manage to keep a straight face when they perform these acts of political theater, but some jokes demand to be told in a serious and somber fashion.

There is often a very positive, but also a hidden ripple effect when freedom of speech is restricted. William Tyndale published material that offended King Henry.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_VIII_of_England

“ He is frequently characterised in his later life as a lustful, egotistical, harsh, and insecure king. “

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Tyndale

“ In 1535, Tyndale was arrested and jailed in the castle of Vilvoorde (Filford) outside Brussels for over a year. In 1536 he was convicted of heresy and executed by strangulation, after which his body was burnt at the stake. “

King Henry’s actions did more to popularize Tyndale’s work than Tyndale could ever have done.

I don’t mind people criticizing my religious beliefs, because I do more than my fair share of ridiculing some of the more popular religious doctrines; however, I don’t do it to deliberately offend people, it’s just my way of expressing my opinions – sometimes.

If you, Mr. C., wish to publish material that you think might offend a lot of zealous religious believers, I admit that your material or posts do not bother me in the least. I enjoy reading opinions contrary to my own. But please keep in mind, that you should butter the bread that you offer to your readers for ingestion, evenly and with the same thickness of satire or contempt. For example; you might wish to publish some cartoons depicting atheists as having an inferior intelligence compared to those who believe in a deity; something subtle, such as a religious person trying to explain the difference in the operating systems of Linux and MS Windows – to a cat wearing a neck-tag that has a picture of a Baphomet. ;)

I just read this:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/the-pope/11347931/Pope-Francis-You-cannot-make-fun-of-the-faith-of-others.html

" Pope Francis has weighed into the debate over freedom of expression in the wake of the murderous attacks in Paris, saying that anyone who insults a religion can expect “a punch in the nose”.

It's all we can expect from a Katlick!
