Here's a follow-up to this morning's post...
Before Ed Snowden, there was NSA whistleblower Russell Tice. We've talked about him a great deal in the past. A reader just turned me on to this interview with the man. If the following doesn't make your jaw drop, it must be wired into place.
Tice: Okay. They went after -- and I know this because I had my hands literally on the paperwork for these sort of things -- they went after high-ranking military officers; they went after members of Congress, both Senate and the House, especially on the intelligence committees and on the armed services committees and some of the -- and judicial. But they went after other ones, too. They went after lawyers and law firms. All kinds of–heaps of lawyers and law firms.
They went after judges. One of the judges is now sitting on the Supreme Court that I had his wiretap information in my hand. Two are former FISA court judges.
They went after State Department officials. They went after people in the executive service that were part of the White House–their own people. They went after antiwar groups.
They went after U.S. international -- U.S. companies that that do international business, you know, business around the world. They went after U.S. banking firms and financial firms that do international business.
They went after NGOs that -- like the Red Cross, people like that that go overseas and do humanitarian work. They went after a few antiwar civil rights groups.
So, you know, don’t tell me that there’s no abuse, because I’ve had this stuff in my hand and looked at it...
Interviewer: Now Russ, the targeting of the people that you just mentioned, top military leaders, members of Congress, intelligence community leaders and the -- oh, I’m sorry, it was intelligence committees, let me correct that -- not intelligence community, and then executive branch appointees. This creates the basis, and the potential for massive blackmail. So: Are journalists now going to mount an attack-the-messenger campaign against Tice? Mark my words -- that is precisely what will happen if this interview is heard widely enough. Some reporter somewhere will find the guy's old college girlfriend, and she will reveal that Russell Tice used to hide boogers under the sofa and that's why we shouldn't listen to anything said by that awful, awful man. It'll be something like that.
Tice: Absolutely! And remember we talked about that before, that I was worried that the intelligence community now has sway over what is going on.
Now here’s the big one. I haven’t given you any names. This was is summer of 2004. One of the papers that I held in my hand was to wiretap a bunch of numbers associated with, with a 40-something-year-old wannabe senator from Illinois. You wouldn’t happen to know where that guy lives right now, would you? It’s a big white house in Washington, DC. That’s who they went after. And that’s the president of the United States now.
Let's speculate as to what the NSA may have found on Obama. Anyone remember Tony Rezko and his links to Obama? Anyone remember Rezko's links to international crook Nadhmi Auchi? Anyone remember Evelyn Pringle's investigative pieces? Anyone remember that Pringle said that every time corrupt Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich got a pay-off, State Senator Barack Obama got a smaller pay-off (even when the money came from those goombahs in Vegas)?
In a statement on the NSA scandal, Obama made the memorable claim that he himself was a likely target. Now we know what he was getting at.

Jesus H. We do really have just a figurehead in the WH if this is true. Not blowing my own horn, but as I've said they might not listen to everything right now, but later....? It's like a monstrous cache of enemies lists that they claim now to be only 5 years in duration.
Is Obama or any POTUS really CiC? Or is the office just a puppet for a military Junta aided and abetted by civil service sociopaths.
I really don't GAS if Snowden is a quadruple-dipped counter insurgent. I don't care if Wikileaks dumps everything. I don't care If Manning dumped everything. Shit has to change, and every bit of light leading us into the reality of our form of government is a good thing.
Just like Oedipus, it's necessary for us to know what's going on even if it compels us to gouge our eyes out.

I remember the Pringle series on Obama and the Illinois Combine very well. It was thoroughly researched and footnoted and blasted the idea that Barack Obama was the One, the political candidate to clean up after the Bush&Cheney debacle. The campaign and the selling of the candidate was all a mirage, a bit of fancy, slick marketing.
I was so stunned by the material, I wrote Pringle an email, basically pleading that she get the material to the major networks, the MSM {I read the 6-7 part piece online].
Her reply was equally stunning:"They know. They already know the story and the facts. They're not interested."
That's where we were back in 2007-2008. Things haven't changed. In fact, you listen to the talking heads now, it's only worse. We're not getting news or anything resembling journalism at the national level; we're getting a massage.

Oh come on...did we all really believe anything had really changed since the bad ol days of the FBI (etc)? It's all an illusion. They did this to Clinton, too. I mean, they all really are anointed leaders. No one clean gets very far-they only let those they can control get ahead.. Anyone who makes a fuss is dead in the water.
Look at poor Maxine Waters- classic case of screwing her over with anything they could get their hands on because she was one of the few to take issue with bank reform (amongst many other liberal issues). And then-they hung her with her own affiliations on that very issue.
I don't know what to say except this is what they have been doing for years...nothing has changed. They used to set them up with girls and frame them in a nice package at conventions-back in the good ol days...now it's more sophisticated. It's a bit of a cat and mouse game. When they start to lose control, leaks get out or rumors start--that's a warning. If they don't back down, well, no more warnings.
I remember Tice from back during the Bush years-a bit vaguely. As for all the leaks now, let's face it, change would never have happened under a Republican Admin. -the time is ripe because liberals aren't so blind about their loyalty. And Republicans have so much hatred in them for Obama-this is something they think can weaken Obama. But the truth is-Obama doesn't run this country....it's run by the War Machine. Truthfully I worry for few, but the likes of Elizabeth Warren. They all have power in their heart first and foremost. Thanks Joseph for finding this....let's hope more hear this.
It does give a great deal of credibility to the quote about MLK jr. They have him by the balls and he knows it. But that's the bargain he made. Hard to really feel sympathy for him that way. /endrant

The entire interview is online now and the SF Chronicle (amongst some others) are reporting on the interview.

Let's hope it builds more momentum and doesn't get buried after the weekend.
I've asked this question before (but not on this forum) so I'll ask it again.
Where is Tony Rezko? Don't just say he's in jail...Where is he?
The same goes for the former mayor of Chicago...he was one of Obama's best friends...
What jail is he in? Has anybody ever heard of either of the two?
Sure is strage that the media is very quiet about these things.
