George W. Bush's deputy counsel, John Michael Farren, has been charged with the attempted murder of his wife. A confidential Cannonfire source reports that Farren told investigators: "Wait -- you're saying that's against the law?"

I agree with Brad Friedman:

Furthermore, we hope they don't try to disbar Farren over this policy difference between him and his wife. Politicizing his belief that she should no longer be alive would just be wrong, set a very bad precedent for future administration attorneys, and put our nation at even greater danger from terrorism.

Barack Obama now says that, contrary to popular belief, he did not actually run on an anti-spousal-homicide platform.
