He claims that his mistreatment of prisoners has saved the taxpayers money, even though the money he has saved doesn't match the millions of dollars in lawsuits he has engendered. Most Arizona cops hate him because officers who should be out on patrol are assigned to his massive staff of personal bodyguards. Not only that:
He lives in a fantasy world of self-importance.He also falsely claims to be a Korean war vet, plus a whole lot of other stuff. In my experience, guys who continually brag about what what tough sunzabitches they are tend to be nuttier than a Payday bar.
His claims of arresting Elvis Presley, breaking the French Connection, and being in weekly shoot-outs suggest a serious mental problem.

Is he responsible for keeping prisoners in 120 degree tents?
He was on our campus once upon a time and all the right-wingers became all a-fluttered. I was singularly unimpressed. It takes no skill, no intelligence, and no soul to simply be a barbarian.
I'm sure he thinks he invented torture.
I'm sure he thinks he's Buddy Deeds.
