Obama finally does something right

Read Dakinkat on the new CFPA, which will oversee credit reform in this country. It comes with the DK seal of approval -- for now. There's a good chance that lobbyists will destroy the one genuinely worthwhile and bold move that Obama has so far tried to make.

I think that CFPA will provide us with a clean and easy way to distinguish between right-wing tea party zealots and legitimate left-wing critics of our current president. Anyone who decries much-needed financial regulation as "socialism" can never, under any circumstances, be our friend or ally.

Speaking of credit, that reminds me of Joe's earlier post on credit-report-providing websites and commercials with a certain "smarmy slacker":

"Don't be fooled by wacky commercials...for other 'free' sites.

"Check all three of your credit reports at annualcreditreport.com, the only site authorized by federal law. [italics mine]"
