She's back on the streets

The fucking whore walks again -- and now she's whoring for a right-wing radio network.

UPDATE: To the dolts coming here from a site called "Rump Roast": First, I am not a PUMA and not a member of any other group. All categories are crap and all isms are prisons. Second, you seem to be utterly unaware of the reason why Randi Rhodes was canned from Air America. She pulled out that knife. She deserves to be stabbed with it. My brief is not feminism but fairness.

Sort of makes me wonder if I could get my own radio show just burping and farting on the air for two hours a day.

Normally I would disapprove of your language but it seems appropriate here.

Guess the left is stuck with some bad pennies like Rhodes and Garafalo just like the right is stuck with loonies women like Coulter and Malkin.

I had not been of her features before I clicked on the bradblog link, Joe.
Now my questions are:
Which is the Coulter and which is the clone?
Or are they both clunts?

I should not have published the "clunts" remark. I'd trash the comment, except it serves as a reminder that it was RR who sent political dialog into a sewer.

I used to like Randi, although I always wished that she would shut up and let her guests talk. (I much prefer radio programs which feature informed guests. I don't particularly like listener call-ins.)

I still like Garafalo. But when she's out of her comfort zone, it's painfully obvious.

Joseph, that was a master stroke linking 'fucking whore' to RR.

I know (or think I know) that you are calling RR a fucking whore because that is the exact phrase that she used, but still, Joseph, it is bad, really bad. You are a man, she is a woman. As a class, the power is on your side. Perhaps it would be more buffering if you had said, "She who calls other women fucking whores" or something similar, then it would not be you (a man, a member of the power class) calling her (a woman, a member of the not-power class) a fucking whore.

Not good. Just saying, and probably will fall on deaf ears, because I think you have been called on this before and instead of not doing it you just justify doing it.

I'm sorry, because other than that, I think you have a good heart, but this is just unacceptable. And no, I would not in a million years call Coulter a cunt or whore or any such name. It would be something gender/sex neutral.

I guess that if Randi was a Obama hater like you, then she would be a wonderful woman and everything would be just fine.

If Randi Rhodes is a whore, I'm curious to know what you think of yourself. That's what I hate the most about moralist like you who indulge in ad hominem attacks, they should look in the mirror before throwing stones at others.

Anon is one of my daily haters. I normally don't let these comments through, but this time I want to demonstrate what a fucking idiot this person is.

Y'see, there's a reason why Randi was fired from Air America...

And Kitty: Sorry, but my attitude is: He (or she) who first whips out a knife deserves to be stabbed.

Yes, of course, there was a reason that RR was fired from AA.

However, I do not believe it had anything to do with the standup comedy (?) routine in which she uttered that memorable line.

As I understood it, there was a pre-existing clause in her contract with the former owners which the new buyers declined to honor and insisted upon voiding, creating an impasse and the eventual decision to part ways.

And I think that was stipulated to in various public mentions by both parties concerned.

I must say, I have listened to RR here in South Florida for a decade or more, prior to her syndication(s), and mainly enjoyed the experience. However, when she got on the hate Hillary bandwagon, she became insufferable to the degree she focused on that message.

Still, I miss her, and have missed her each of the several times she's been off the air down here.

[Disclaimer: ALthough we have never met, several of Randi's close friends are also friends of mine. - SAR]

Kitty -

Randi was a staunch Clinton defender for what? 14, 15 years, then suddenly became a Hillary-hater. Considering how thoroughly her research is, it couldn't be a question of receiving new information; her original opinion would have been well-formed and well-founded. So - barring some sort of psychotic break - the only reasonable explanation for the one-eighty is (I hate to say) that she went where the money was. Going with whoever pays you the most, well...'fucking whore' is as 'fucking whore' does.

Let me guess, the Rumproasts (or "blogstalkers" as I usually refer to them) are accusing you of hypocrisy, right? That's one of the words they know.

That site is an example of what happens when you give trolls their own blog.

I liked her years ago but I started to notice that something was wrong with her.

If you look at her work history, it is pretty revealing. Her comments about Hillary and others were evil. The weird incidents which follow her life are illuminating. I have an opinion of whats wrong with her but its not fair to say.

I will say that I have no respect for her now and my prediction for her career-stormy weather ahead...

Snowflake, I know what you mean, and I'm willing to go further. In 2007, well before the "fucking whore" outburst, I listened to her show often. And over time I came to the conclusion that there was just something wrong with that lady. Something wrong that had nothing to do with her views.

To be frank, I formed the opinion that she has mental health issues.

Maybe it's the motor-mouth thing, which is a personality quirk that particularly annoys me.

I found myself listening for a minute, then yelling at the radio: "Shut up, Randi....shut UP, Randi...SHUT UP, RANDI!"

Finally, I would switch her off. One day I switched her off and never switched her on again.

Now, I've had some small radio experience myself, and I know the great fear of Dead Air. The radio medium always brings out the motor-mouth within. Hyper-garrulousness tends to overtake all the hosts on Air America, and most radio hosts everywhere else.

But with Randi, it was something stranger and more disturbing. Her on-air tics reminded me of those exhibited by some people I've known with substance abuse issues. Maybe she's a pill-popper, which would explain the mystery incident of her sudden unconsciousness. Or maybe she isn't. I don't know. But she certainly ACTS like a druggie.

At any rate, I have no desire to be around people who talk like jackhammers, and who act as if they are being repressed if anyone else tries to get in a few words edgewise.

I do hope things work out for her in the end, she was brave when she was good, and good when she was brave-but she is just a scurrilous low life now, in my opinion.

Joe -
I'm not sure she "acts like a druggie", but she did say that in the 80s (prior to her radio days) she did coke to the extent that "we even wore coke spoons as a fashion statement"; also she was a trucker, which means she may have had abuse issues with amphetamines, as many truckers did back then. [I simply offer this as additional information, and am not implying anything0.

Well, SR, that explains a lot. In my experience, former druggies usually still act like druggies.
