Okay, I know it's gloppy...

...but you'd have to possess a heart harder than concrete not to love this.

I've seen this video about 40 times. a number of things come together to create this over night sensation. First there is Susan's singing. It's great, from the heart, and is quite the antidote to what passes as our culture.

Then there is the choice of song: heroic and about dashed dreams etc, that was a perfect fit...then there is cheeky Susan herself.

You know most of us has
an inner Simon telling the Susan part of us that it's fat,old and unlovely. For once, our Susan part got our inner Simon to sit down and like it .

(wiping eyes) It brings tears to my eyes but, I can't stop watching it.... I'm ready to move to England just so I can watch the show!

Thanks for that. Second time I’ve seen this talent show; first was “Paul sings Nessun Dorma,” which possibly one or two people may not have yet seen.

By the way, have you ever heard Maestro Pavorotti’s speaking voice? (And the last comment in this gem of a video is worth the wait as well.)

Seen this before but don't mind seeing it again.

I love the way the audience was clearly poised to see her as a figure of ridicule--the stereotypical frumpy spinster, from a small village, with a cat no less! They openly laughed when she dared to compare herself to Elaine Page. And then she steps up to the mic and it's like a chorus of angels breaking into song. Amazing.
