Sorry...

I should have a proper post up soon -- and I promise that it will be on current events. The SLA thing just barely qualifies as current, I suppose, since it is in the news right now to some degree. Actually, I just received a handful of rather amazing vintage clips on the case (thanks, KC!) which I think I will share with you. But I won't print that stuff right now -- I understand that most people are more interested in Obama, the economy and such.

I'm definitely "interested in Obama, the economy and such," but that doesn't mean I can't chew gum AND revisit the SLA again. So, please, don't refrain from the fascinating 1970s flashbacks. I was born in '66 and grew up in the 70s, and when I think back to the news at the time of the early to mid 70s, I can remember only 4 news stories from watching our TV that stood out: Watergate, Vietnam and its aftermath (particularly the refugees), school busing controversies, and Patty Hearst. It was only the latter that really piqued my curiosity at the time because, even to an elementary school student, there were all kinds of elements to the story that just didn't pass the most basic smell test.

I'm sick to death of Obama.

Don't apologize. A lot of us serfs very much appreciate your efforts to enlighten us about the workings of "our" government.
