Lil Davey

Hey, remember Davey Sirota, the fellow who accused me of stalking him? He now wants to be installed as a host on MSNBC. (See also here and here and here and lots of other places.) This self-promotional campaign is quite unprecedented; I've never seen anything quite like it. If his desire to be on TV were more obvious, he'd be a cable box. Or maybe Dr. Joyce Brothers. Or maybe Nicole Kidman in that movie I liked even though I can't recall the title offhand.

Here's the part you don't know: Davey sent a private message to me asking me to help him attain this position. Yep, he asked his stalker for aid. I wonder what Dr. Joyce would say about that?

Not long ago, his accusations led to people calling him paranoid. But his latest exercise in ruthless self-promotion proves (if you'll allow me to steal a gag from Deconstructing Harry) that he is the opposite of paranoid: He operates under the delusion that people like him.

If he gets the gig, rename the network: MSNPD.

MSNPD -- LOL!! Perfect.

The movie was "To Die For," a great flick directed by Gus van Sant and the one that made people aware what a talented actress Kidman is.

Maybe David figures if he's on TV you won't have to stalk him anymore.

Would that movie be "To Die For"? (Man, she never looked better!)

The Nicole Kidman movie was, "To Die For." And she turned in a tour de force performance. Chilling in fact.

I can see Davey in such a role.

I couldn't help but be reminded of a Crack Whore after reading his plea to readers.

Narcissism is the evil twin of the Hubris Disease. Now, the pièce de résistance arrives after he derides his readers as a bunch of losers and stalkers and then wants these "pathetic" creatures he ridicules as watching too many "Lost" episodes to promote him. Hahaha. He's kidding, right?

The MSNBC show's name:

The Eighth Deadly Sin
with
David Sirota

Public apology before public support would be warranted first.

Yeah, Rachel Maddow sold out so easily and so eagerly it was an embarrassment to watch. Look, I don't begrudge her or anyone who wants to "make it" in a cutthroat business, but their naked ambition and eagerness to kiss the hand of power does not also entitle them to think of themselves as serious people whose views should be accorded respect. It's one or the other, dudes and dudettes.

Ahh, if only they could all be as upfront as my favorite bobblehead, Andrea Mitchell. You can practically see her waking up from nappy time when it's her turn to talk, and then she sits up and smiles and neatly delivers some of the so-clever lines her assistant said to her at the cocktail party last night, and then goes right back to sleep. I mean, I am an astonishingly lazy person but Andrea makes me look like the Energizer Bunny. She doesn't even try anymore, doesn't even pretend to. Nice work if you can get it, I guess.
