I don't want to turn this blog over to the Techdude/COLB mystery. The subject fascinates a small-ish number of people, and (probably) bores a larger number of people. But there have been a few interesting -- dare I say "bizarre"? -- twists and turns, so I'll have an update soon.
Oh -- I'm a little surprised to have received only one relevant comment on Sunday's little puzzle about the Virgin Mary's method of getting stoned. There's a good article about the topic here, which also indicates that recreational opium use was fairly widespread in what we now call the Holy Land. But I still don't know how pregnant women made use of the stuff.

Ok, I will bite.
I have only two weak observations. 1) that I doubt a tincture in wine would work cos THC is not very soluble in alcohol. Much better in fats, so perhaps an infusion in olive oil? And Im sure they would have known how to extract the resin, so why not Brownies, well ok, honey cakes? Smoking might have been difficult but when did they invent waterpipes in the region? But if the event really did take place in a stable then I doubt they would have access to a birthing chair.

Now clearly, she’s not a Democrat, and she is a typical right wing troll - Steve Diamond just up above says this - “I’ve known Texas Darlin’ for several years dating back to when she was posting on FreeRepublic and I can vouch for her credibility and trustworthiness.”
Well, at least he got the first part right.
As for her connections to Larry Sinclair, her IP is listed on this page, under the name “Larry Sinclair.” She posted there regularly as “Gigi,” a name she also uses on her own blog when she pulls out a sockpuppet for support. How does one explain this away? How is anyone who cares about truth, honor, integrity, yada yada yada, explain this?
And as for TechDude, he’s another fake. He was anonymous and yet he had a dead rabbit on his door, and his tires slashed? Hilarious. And now because his BS has been exposed, he’s being threatened by mythical goblins? Bullcrap. The whole thing is unraveling, because it is a stack of lies.
