And now for something completely different

Unbelievable Poltergeist Activity - Very Wierd
We sometimes discuss non-political subjects on the weekends -- although I've never before posted a video like this. There are other online videos like this, but the signs of fakery are usually obvious.

In this case, the lack of provenance must make us skeptical: We can't accept "evidence" from an anonymous source. If you're clever, you can think of ways to stage these events. Although the dogs' reactions seem very convincing, I suspect that this video is a hoax -- for one thing, the framing is a little too perfect. If it is bogus, it's uncommonly well-done.

I'm also a little miffed that we don't get a chance to hear any of the Korngold. Would a classical station play Perry Como -- or are we to suppose that the ghost turned the radio knob?

(Thanks, as always, to the Perfesser.)

The dogs should have become more agitated by activity. I did own a Scottish Terrier that would walk every night behind something at the same time and stop at the door. He would sit there and wait until morning to go out. The dogs are watching something, but there is no shot of what is in visually in front of the animals as they watch something.

Good point. I would suggest that the light is on in the closet to aid the confederate hiding in there.

The other hoaxer is lying down between the sofa and the table. A little fishing line and -- voila!

I was experimenting at home. (No cracks, please, about being "in the closet.") The two-person theory would explain why there is a pause between the unlatching of the closet door and the swinging open of that door. You need a hand to turn the knob. During the pause, the guy in the closet pulls back and hides. Then the door swings.

Besides, the text tells us that the activity had focused on the entrance to the attic. So why not focus the camera on that area?

If the roll of paper started floating around in front of the camera, I would have been impressed.

but this is clearly a fake. There's nothing in there that can't be reproduced with simple tricks. There's nothing happening in front of the camera apart from a roll of paper knocked off and a door opening.

And "paranormal researcher" have to stop thinking that dust out of focus is an "orb" !

I just got off the phone with Dr. Freud, who also watched the clip. He hrumphed that the video's text is probably sufficient debunking evidence, as it mentions "film" in the camera - an odd lapse, but typical for amateurs who can't help but leave telltale subconscious clues. Apparently this fellow used to make fake movies also. Dr. Freud recalled the time when movies were still new, and were employed to prove that a baseball actually curved over the plate. The bowsers aren't very agitated because they're quite used to their owner doing insane things. Dr. Freud added that Perry Como was chosen (subconsciously) because of his chart-topping songs "It's Impossible" and "Magic Moments".
