Dream team
Being both racist and sexist (according to a certain former co-writer), I am very pleased to note rumors that a deadlocked convention may turn to Gore.
I can't think of any reason why Gore won't be the candidate, or why he wouldn't sweep 50 states and all the territories. A deadlock has never been very far from most pols' minds, closer even than that scar in the back of your neck. It's probably a good idea to lay the groundwork for a Gore write-in movement, just in case. Besides, a write-in vote can't be rigged! Plus 'Gore' is easy to spell! And if he can somehow go on record as being the GenX candidate or the X-Factor or X-Files candidate, he'll get all the illiterate write-ins and the Fundie Xtians!
Kerry? But he's needed in the Senate, along with Hillary and Barry. Unless Hillary and Barry run as a separate ticket, to avoid civil war. Of course there's also Ralph. Also a Paul/Kucinich choice, whose policies and ideologies cancel each other out, which leaves the self-evident issue of the matter of size instead of race, gender, or faith. For guys like you there should be a Dowd/Ehrenreich ticket.
It wouldn't matter who Gore's running mate is. How about Rachael Ray? That way you get an avalanche, you get the votes from the millions who never heard of Gore. Or Rachel Maddow who will be 35 in a few weeks?
I read that as well. It has the advantage of not rewarding either of the current contenders the top spot, which may assuage some of the partisans for the other contender, who swear they will not vote for the other one if he/she gains the top spot.
However, you'd still probably find considerable boycotting by whichever side's champion wasn't on the ticket, particularly on the BHO side. For it would be perceived by some as robbing him of his rightful spot atop the ticket, and all through the allegedly horrid machinations of HRC, and/or the party's super delegates. That would probably be true even assuming he was the Veep, making him ride at the back of the bus, figuratively. If HRC got the Veep spot, they would go as ballistic as if she became the POTUS nominee.
As interesting as this possibility may be for pure political junkee entertainment, or for party loyalists hoping to reconcile the party's divisions, or for Gore supporters, etc., it's probably as much a pipe dream as when Gerald Ford was floated as 'co-president' Veep for Reagan, to handle foreign affairs, while RWR handled domestic tax cutting affairs.
Sorry about the double post (sluggish web response).
Kerry as veep isn't going to happen, but it isn't because he's needed in the Senate. The governor of Massachusetts is a Democrat, and would appoint another Democrat to take his place.
You are some strange folk... you delete any comments that go against your view... and now you are all giddy that someone is going to select the Democratic presidential candidate rather than the people. This has just become an echo chamber for solfa, aitchd and Joe. Pretty lame.
I haven't deleted you, JS, even though I think you are a fool. You've been pretty damned loquacious, in fact.
But...you've played by the rules. So here you are.
The deleted comments were just dopey drive-bys from hatemongers with no arguments, just a quick insult or two. Guys like that are almost always anonymous. If you start a blog of your own, you too may soon see the wisdom of my "no anonymous comments" rule.
You'll also note that in the recent past I have deleted comnents from people who praised me. In that particular post, I wanted especially to hear from someone who would try to challenge my position by mounting an actual argument, without switching topics. Spare me the acolytes; give me a foe worthy of me steel.
Other types of blogging software force commenters to sign in with their names and email addresses. I wish Blogger/Blogspot had that capability, but it does not. At any rate, the "non anonymity" rule is hardly unique or out of line.
I do give special treatment to old regulars. Unless I get really pissed off at them. But you have to understand that this site was never intended as a public forum; neither is it a place of business.

Not only that: The host has worked for other people ALL HIS LIFE. Other people have told him what to do ALL HIS LIFE. He has whored out his talents ALL HIS LIFE. Ah, Joseph. Mentioning the Ticket That Dare Not Speak Its Name—bless you. Said ticket would be about 10,000 times superior to any combination of Obama, Clinton, Edwards or Clark (with the possible exception of Clinton/Clark, which even I could probably get behind).
Gore/Bloomberg. Just typing that evokes an black emptyness I'm hard put to describe...

Gore was my first choice but Obama's going to win the nomination. Hillary needs to drop out and endorse him now.
Not to mention 'coquettish' also?

You're right. Kerry won't be veep.
Better: Carol Moseley Braun.

Capice?

You know you can change your blogger settings to not allow anonymous comments.
