Alabama scheming

Anyone who doubts the existence of conspiracies -- Republican conspiracies, at least -- should read Scott Horton's new piece on filthy politics in Alabama.

With the collusion of the Bush Justice Department, Alabama's Republican governor has decided that it can arrest on trumped-up charges any Democratic state legislator. The state's newspapers are all outrageously biased in favor of the GOP. Meanwhile...
Recall that a Missouri criminal attorney conducted a detailed investigation into the service of Mark Everett Fuller as District Attorney in Coffee and Pike Counties. His study, presented in a sworn affidavit and backed up with documentation, showed that Fuller was an absentee district attorney. He drew his salary for the job, but he spent his time out of state, largely in Colorado, attending to the business that he owns and operated and which continues to provide most of his income–Doss Aviation. The affidavit was submitted to the U.S. Attorney and the Justice Department. No investigation of its allegations occurred.

Please God, if You are listening, be quick to chastise this injustice!

Amusingly (for me at least), "doss" is slang british english for avoiding work, lazing on the job. A dosser would be work-shy.

I wonder what DOSS aviation actually does?

Mr. Fuller must have a sense of humour.

the only laws being enforced are traffic laws, drug laws and obscene crimes.... public corruption goes totally ignored.

anon 4:48pm: on the list of laws being enforced, you forgot to include trumped allegations of corruption against democratic elected officials or prominent democrats.

alabama is a state where the rightwing Rethugs almost completely own the gov, legislature, US Attorneys, etc.
These rethugs are working to set the clock back so that the protected wealthy elite stay that way and get wealthier while everyone else, blacks in particular, get poorer and have no rights.
