Jenna Bush on stage, saying "Hi" to her new fiance.

Pat Robertson also says "Howdy.

"Macho, macho man...I want to be a macho man..." Isn't blue the wrong color?

Anyone taking that "Azules vs. Colorados" nonsense seriously has been asking to get crossed up. Like the USA was Paraguay, only dumber...how did all that crap get propagated any way- and why? In the aftermath of the 2000 elections, seemingly out of nowhere, the states voting for Bush became "red" states, and the ones voting for Gore became "blue" states.

What's up with that- a litmus test for gullibility?

Anyway, the experiment must be over. Republican Red/ Democrat Blue is so 2004...have a blue elephant.

In the late 1940s-early 1950s the counselors at my summer camp used that fingers thing (raised high) in the mess hall to demand instant silence. Later, on the street, that fingers thing with the palm up, but not raised, meant 'bullshit'.

In Haskell Wexler's 1969 masterpiece film Medium Cool, an early scene shows the Illinois National Guard training for riot control in 1968, and you see a soldier raising both hands with that fingers thing, apparently signaling something like 'take it easy, cool it'.

Speaking of quote Images unquote, if you haven't seen Robert Altman's "Images", you're bereft of some extraordinary culture.
