dr. elsewhere here
Folks, forgive my histrionic intrusion into your headspace, BUT....
TOMORROW IS THE DEADLINE FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS TO THE FCC ON NET NEUTRALITY!!!
Joe highlighted the reason this remains a very real and pressing threat in a previous post (do watch that youtube; it'll so piss you off you'll want to incinerate the mediatocracy), but I really let this deadline for public comments slip up on me, thinking it was July and not June 15th. But, it IS JUNE 15!! Tomorrow. Friday. Don't miss it
Go here to post your story (yup; that's what they wanted to see) about why the proposed "gateway" system will destroy the most important aspect of the worldwideweb: The fact that it is EQUALLY ACCESSIBLE - on both the presence and navigation dimensions - TO ANY AND EVERYONE ON THE ENTIRE PLANET.
With the exception, of course, of those countries and companies that restrict access. But we can visit that another day. For now, just write up a quick and short reason the current accessibility levels are crucial to your life, especially as compared to what the media maggots are proposing.
DO IT! NOW!!
And then spread this around; we need more than a groundswell - we need a 9.0 earthquake!

Done. I pointed out that the Internet should be considered part of the public "commons."
