A great Texan

Texas Senator Carlos Uresti, Democrat of San Antonio, got up out of sickbed -- he had a nasty flu -- to cast a deciding vote against a "voter ID" bill designed to keep minorities and poor people away from the ballot box in his state.

Remember that next time some creep tells you that both parties are the same. Remember that when someone like David Lindorff tells you to stop supporting Democrats because they have not yet accomplished the politically impossible in DC.

And Bush took a break from his vacation to go sign the "Terry Schiavo law" in Washington, so what ? Does it means the Republicans are not corrupted by corporations ?

There's good people with good intentions on both side.

But I don't think you can have a good democracy without corruption when you need to raise over 300 millions to become president. You would save so much money by publicly financing your election instead of letting the corporation subsidize them (and expect a return on their investment)
