I don't think I need to summarize the Pat Tillman story. Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Kauzlarich was a commander responsible for Pat Tillman's unit. Check out this gem:

That's true. Look at the DoD sheep in the Colorado Springs after there local religous figures were cure of their meth and gay addictions in two weeks. A veritable miracle.
Pat Tillman was an atheist. During his funeral service, I heard that some wacko clergyman started talking about gawd & heaben, and his brother interupted the service to quelch that bull crap. Any wacko that states that old wornout canard "There are no atheists in foxholes" should be corrected by telling them "all the atheists were out fighting for their country, like Pat Tillman, & not hiding in a foxhole or behind their daddies getting them out of military service or being exempt 5 times for made up reasons.

Judging from his first name, I'd guess that he and his family are at least part Irish. Irish people have a reputation for being able to hold a grudge for a very, very long time. Religion has nothing to do with it.
The unhappiness of the Pat Tillman family probably has more to do with the absence of Pat Tillman in their lives.
