The visual gag to your left comes to us by way of one of this blog's finest friends. It points to a non-laughing matter: Now that W has rejected the Iraq study group, -- a move which amounts to rejecting the Old King and his sages -- what next?
The more conspiratorially-minded among you may suggest a "Winter Kills" scenario -- that is to say, all out (albeit covert) war between Poppy and the puppy.
I've been toying with that very scenario for a couple of years now. So far, we have seen no sign that such an generational conflict will actually come to pass. But maybe now...

I'm on board with the "Winter Kills" idea, Joseph. And I'm kinda surprised it hasn't played out to its logical conclusion yet.
I'm not sure we can blame W for not following the recommendations of the Baker commission. As far as I understand, the report basically said "the situation is hopeless, and nothing will help, but we'll trot out some stock ideas anyway."
I mean really. Engage Iran and Syria? As if the US has any chits it can call in! Who in their right mind would suggest that they would help us? Anything they do will be to further their own interests, and I can't blame them.
