The L.A. TImes/Bloomberg poll:
New Jersey: Menendez (D) 45%, Kean (R) 41%.
Virginia: Webb (D) 47%, Allen (R) 44%.
Missouri: Talent (R) 48%, McCaskill (D) 45%.
Tennesee: Corker (R) 49%, Ford (D) 44%.
If these numbers hold, and if the Diebold factor is minimized -- if, if, if -- the Senate is ours, even if Lieberman turns.

even if Lieberman turns
I thought he was already turned. Or did you mean "if he turned into a Democrat?"
joe, i'm missing your logic here.
these numbers only give us NJ and VA, the repugs taking TN and MO. that puts us evenly at 50-50 by my calculations (and i think votemaster's).
and this is what i think will happen with lieberman. if the repugs win or tie the senate -
IN WHICH CASE CHENEY WILL BREAK ALL TIES -
then LIEberman will have the edge and the dems will grant him his important seats on committees on his word that he will caucus with them. he won't adhere too well, but he'll have the upper edge on that one.
if the dems get the majority, which means they have to take 3 of those 4 states, then LIEberman will bolt, making it even with a cheney tie-breaker.
therefore, the real story is, the dems can only really control the senate if they take ALL FOUR of those states.
and really, what are the odds?
joe, votemaster now puts these numbers in to make the senate red, 51 to 49.
however, if you factor in the independent vote - which is (a) upwards of 13% of those polled and (b) independents are leaning blue over red by 2 to 1 margins - all of these states, including OH, MT, WA, and MI, would go dem.
which ultimately means, we MUST get the votes out.
PLEASE, EVERYONE, VOLUNTEER TO DRIVE FOLKS TO THE POLLS ON THE 7TH!!!
Devils' Advocate:
How do we know that the LATimes/Bloomberg Poll numbers aren't being cooked up to match any election fraud that is anticipated to happen again in a few weeks for these important races?
Since the mainstream media has already been guilty in not covering election fraud stories and in their role in calling both the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections, what's to stop them from taking an early role in coming up with false poll numbers?
I personally think the Dems are ahead in most races in which there are more registered Dem voters than Republicans.
Publishing a poll in which the Repub candidate is ahead by 5 or 7% is to being done in advance so that when the "votes get counted", it isn't so obvious that the election was rigged again.
I think something is terribly terribly wrong with our current election system and the Repubs are playing it like it is Beethoven's Fifth and used the 2000 and the 2004 elections as warm up practices.
If the American public doesn't know that their votes aren't being counted, the Repubs thinking is: "what they don't know won't hurt them" type of philosophy.
this is another reason why there has been a close to a total mainstream media blackout on investigating the election theft/fraud from 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections.
anyone out there?
We are sliding down into fascism at a fast clip.
