Anti-W fundies

I know what you're going to say: "Why is Cannonfire printing this? It's nutball stuff!" Maybe so, but perhaps it signals a shift in the wind's direction.

I don't believe that Bush is the Antichrist because I don't believe in an Antichrist. The book of Revelation propounds a first-century conspiracy theory about the emperor Nero -- a prophecy that never came to pass. That poorly-written book should never have been in the canon.

That said -- if today's Christians are going to rely on that book as a gloss on current events, let's hope that more of 'em interpret it in this fashion:

Don't Miss this exciting interview on the Spiritual Politician, Friday, October 13, 2006

Is George W. Bush the Beast predicted in the Bible? Are the Evangelical Churches the weapon of Satan?

Spiritual Politician, the show that exposes the nastiness in every part of our lives will host Bonnie Adamsson, an evangelical Christian and activist whose study of the Bible refutes what is being said by the churches that have allowed their faith to convert them into foot soldiers for a fascist state. The show airs Friday, October 13, 2006 at 4 PM PDT

Ms. Adamsson is a life long student of the Bible. She and many of her fellow Evangelical Christians, many in Bush's home state of Texas, are coming to the conclusion that, far from being an instrument of the Will of God, President Bush is actually either a tool of the Beast or the Beast himself. This frightening and illuminating program is a do not miss.

Ms. Adamsson is a long time activist for the environment. Her husband, Alan, died three years ago of the effects of nuclear testing after years of suffering with four different kinds of cancer that had invaded his body. He was 42 when he died. Ms. Adamsson calls for a Christian Stewardship relationship with the Earth to model the relationship Christ charged us to have with each other and will also talk about that Christian Movement now starting.

Too little much too late. Christianity has surrendered any claim to legitimacy it once had.

I think it is good this group is finally rousing itself to the realities of Bush. He is getting ready to devour their young and they figured it out. CHEERS> now we have unlikely allies.

I try to keep an open mind regarding what I have read in the bible, what I have read elsewhere and what I believe. Sitchin is not 100% correct, perhap less than 60%, but his research is far more valid (for lack of a better term) than......everything else?

I suppose, if you believe in the beast, their argument might have some validity. But if you don't, and find the fairytale a little too childish, then they're vanquished to the extremes with the rest of the rapture-waiters.

Shame they couldn't divest themselves of the loonacy without disregarding the planet and the environment. The two CAN be separated. They've just found a way to join them that suits their choice of beliefs.
