Looks like Representative Bill Jefferson of Louisiana -- the guy whose offices were raided by the FBI -- will be challenged in the Democratic primary by State Senator Derrick Shepherd. A welcome development. If Jefferson has any love for his party, he should quit now, even if he honestly believes himself innocent of the bribery charges leveled against him.
