Although the news may distress some regular readers of this blog, there was a time when Patrick Fitzgerald went too far.
As Charlton Heston said in Touch of Evil, "Police work is easy only in a police state." Which, as Justin Raimondo eloquently reminds us, is where we either are going or are headed.

If the concept of using this tactic is acceptable in the case of terrorism, not something I am necessarily approving, then the reason for its use in terrorism - to restrict the ability to send messages likely to result in deadly crimes - then is the use in this case really all that different?
