Some of you may recall Leola McConnell, the professional Dominatrix in Nevada who claims to have had Bill Bennett as one of her customers. She also claims to have aided George W. Bush in his search for, um, an evening's entertainment.
A reader has brought to my attention the fact that she is now officially running for Governor of Nevada. My correspondent believes that her story -- the part involving Bennett, at any rate -- can be verified.
I corresponded with Leola rather briefly. Although she is fiesty to a fault, I liked her. I like some of her positions. (No, I am not going to make the obvious joke.)
But does that mean I'm going to try to determine whether her allegations about Bush and Bennett have any validity? Well...sorry...but at the moment, I feel that this job is, perhaps, best left to someone else. The disastrous Kevin Furlong business (see below) left me howling: "Help, Mr. Wizard! I don't want to be a sex scandal blogger anymore...!"
(Am I the only one here old enough to recall the old Tooter Turtle cartoons? "Help, Mr. Wizard!" was the catch-phrase...)

Maybe it's best you've decided to give up the blogging about the sex scandals, or who among former sex trade workers may or may not be qualified to hold elected office. Because I don't even know what "feisty to a fault" is suppsed to mean.
Its worth pointing out that Nevada has legalized brothels.
silence: You have to understand BDSM. Leola is a Dominatrix, a word is always spelt with a capital D. Many times, men pay professional Dommes to perform services which do not involve actual sex. So, even in other states, what Leola does is probably legal.
jen: You want an example of someone who is "feisty to a fault"? Well, I'm sure that at some point in your life, you may have run into a person who seemed a little TOO eager to do verbal combat. I am told that, in the past, others formed the impression that Leola was that sort of person. That said, she seemed perfectly reasonable when she wrote to me.
Leola running for Governor is old news. I am more excited about the recent announcement that porn star Mary Carey is runnning again for Governor of California.
She also has a new movie out (I mean non-porn) called "Pervert," now available on DVD, kind of a Russ Meyer-style horror-comedy.
Remember? Enough to recall the name was Tudor Turtle.
