The boy was outraged and told his father that Bush smelled like booze. The father said nothing, wanting the Supreme Court job, but the mother complained to Laura Bush.Dare ye scoff? Look, this story has to be on the level. It says so right here, in purple and white. As the Weekly World News reminds us, "We couldn't print it if it weren't true!"
Laura told her that ..."George is under so much stress these days, trying to protect America from terrorists that he 'slips' once in a while...."

A tender moment
As long time readers know, I think the "Voice of the White House" column over at TRBNews is a fraud. But there sure are times when I want to believe. Today's offering relates the charming tale of how a drunk George W. Bush tried to kiss Judge Samuel Alito's son:

Hmmm, I wonder how long the "Voice of the White House" will be on the net. Afterall we have that new "Annoy" law for anonymous sources....
My two cents is that I think the Voice is a truth mixed with some disinfo. They were the first source for W's tirades around the white house, and his falling off the wagon. Newsweek and Inquier seem to verify these Voice stories.
Large chunks of what gets posted up on TBR "news" is fiction. I'd advise against believing anything on the basis of seeing it there.
Anyone recall this strange little moment from Jan. 2004:
...Mr. Bush met a Mr. Scott Reid, senior strategist for Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, and took quite a fancy to him. Bush began asking Mr. Reid what he did for the PM and when Reid deigned to answer, Bush said ... you ready for this?
"Well, you got a pretty face," he told the surprised Mr. Reid. He wasn't done. "You got a pretty face," he said again. "You're a good-looking guy. Better looking than my Scott anyway."

Oh, that story came out of The Globe and Mail, not TBR.
