With so much history in the making right now, you may feel as though now isn't the time to review scandals of yore. But those who do not study history are condemned to relive it. Yes, that's a cliche; it's also true.
Case in point: Gary Buell's recent look back at the Secret Army Organization, a militia-like provocateur group of the early '70s -- whose leaders were run by the FBI.
The SAS represented the plausibly deniable "action arm" of an extremist group within the government which felt that Nixon had sold out by pursuing detente. I've discussed this group in past posts, which looked back at Hoover, Angleton, and the Moorer-Radford affair.
Another plot targeted the 1972 Republican National Convention. In this scenario, terrorists falsely identified as Vietnam Veterans Against the War personnel were to bomb and gun down delegates.
John Kerry helped to lead the VVAW at that time. He must have pissed off someone.
The ultimate goal: A far-right (to the right of Nixon) military takeover of the United States.
One informant (whose reliability has been questioned) maintained that the plot included Watergate burglars James McCord and E. Howard Hunt. If that's true, we may better understand the arguments profferred by many observers that these two men intentionally "bungled" the Watergate burglary to embarrass Nixon.
Why is all this past-tense material still relevant?
1. Because the ideological heirs of that far-right faction have achieved power in the present administration.
2. Because the public must understand that this strategy -- mass death engineered to seem the work of an opponent -- has precedent. The extreme right really will use such tactics to acquire and maintain power.
Understand the past and you will better understand the future.

Yes, the extreme far-right has tremendous power in the current WH administration/DoD and to a large extent they also control what gets disseminated in the media and have the power to squash internally reports of wrong doing.
For example, there was an audio tape of the last few minutes of John F Kennedy Jr.'s plane travel shortly before the crash that was submitted to the State Department. Though of poor quality, one could clearly make out from JFK Jr.'s screaming that their plane was in fact under attack--it had nothing to do with the official mandate that it was pilot error.
The State Department never disclosed to the press that they had ever received any kind of tape and dismissed it as a fake and then destroyed it.
These extreme right faction feel the same way against gays and liberals as the Nazi's felt against the Jews: better dead than alive.
For those far right folks who read the comments section, the world is watching what you are doing and making sure you don't get a chance to accidentally stage a purported nuclear explosion (by Iran of course) in order to shift this country under total martial law.

and anon, not that i'd necessarily question out of hand the jfk, jr, info you share, but what are your sources? i mean, it would make such logical sense for these folks to nip that one in the bud, so to speak, most definitely prior to his making a public decision to go political. but have not heard any of those 'c-theory' details.

Regarding the source for the JFK Jr. info, none other than James O'SHAUGHNESSY who was in the special forces in Vietnam war and ran drugs for the corrupt South Vietnamese gov on behalf of the US government. O'SHAUGHNESSY is either incredibly respected or incredibly hated/hunted (by those who are on the take for drug money from rivals)depending upon whom you are talking to within the armed forces because of some accidental deaths attributed to his black market ops in the Golden triangle. (no he's not a money manager when I googled this name--the blond figure in Lethal Weapon I is based on him)
It is said that the original tape resides in a private vault at an undisclosed location overseas.
However, from an unnamed source close to this individual, let it be said that he has done more than any living human to safeguard this country from nuclear disaster and other types of disasters as well. My hat is off to him for all his good work to safeguard this country! Thank you for all your unpaid and unpublished successes. Curses and bad karma to those that have done everything they can to thwart this man and to wage a secret war against liberals, gays and Jews in the US.
Lastly Jimmy did contact some reporters at the NYT and a few other major newspapers and was rebuffed regarding the JFK Jr. story--no one would touch it, not even the National Enquirer. It seems they got "spooked". I wonder why.
In this country , no good deed seems to go unpunished. We are living in a very fixed view of reality as set by the folks that own this country outright and are responsible for what gets reported in the news.
