A few more Katrina notes

Barbed. Refugees shipped to Utah are being kept behind barbed wire. What's next -- the Abu Ghraib treatment?

On the job! Due to the controversy over the federal government's response to Katrina, President Bush has launched an investigation of himself. When you think about it, he's the only person in America who can do that job objectively -- after all, he doesn't know what he's doing.

(Am I the only one who recalls the time Nixon announced that he would personally investigate the Watergate matter? I'm still waiting for his final report...)

"You rescued them? Idiots!" Adding to the strong suspicion that FEMA wants the poor blacks in NO to die, we now have this story of Navy pilots who were reprimanded for rescuing victims.

Suicide? Sgt. Paul Accardo of the New Orleans police was a familiar figure in his city -- he worked for the public affairs office and often appeared on television. He apparently killed himself last week, after making many heroic efforts to save his fellow citizens. We are told that he became depressed by the devastation. Those of a more paranoid turn of mind may wonder if Accardo caught a glimpse of some activity the Bush administration would prefer to keep undiscussed...

Joe, I know you like a good potential conspiracy theory, so here's one about bush's first fake photo op trip to Louisiana and Mississippi.

Remember the two black women (Bronwynne and Kim Bassier) Bush comforted in Mississippi -- the picture that has been zipped around the world to show that Bush really is compassionate toward black Americans, despite the appearances of black people drowning and going days without food and water in New Orleans? He has even referred to these ladies in a speech on Sept 3rd:

The women are not black Americans -- they are South Africans as the respected SA Mail & Guardian seems poised to reveal. Look here:

Have you hugged a South African today?: US President George Bush tries to comfort Bronwynne Bassier (23) and her sister Kim Bassier (21), left, during a tour of the area that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, last Friday. In a CNN video clip of Bush’s visit, the traumatised sisters are heard telling the president in unmistakable South African accents how the hurricane shattered their lives. There has been speculation in the blogging community over whether the sisters are indeed from South Africa. The Mail & Guardian Online is in the process of confirming their true nationality. Given how fake the trip was this little incident is looking very fishy. No one gets to collapse into the president's arms without going through some kind of secret service and advance man screening right? Why these people in particular? Is it because they could not find any native born black Americans who did not want to verbally tear him a new one?

DUers have developed other pretty conclusive proof that these women are South African. There are also stranger possible theories about Bush-Bassier connections, but I'll leave it at that for now, though DUers are working on it.

Wow - You've been off your medication for quite a while now, haven't you?

Wow above poster...you certainly have been keeping up with yours. Keep taking the Kool Aid!

When (and if) the BFEE is dragged into the light - maybe we can put these dark suspicions to rest. Until then - with this lot - it is safe to assume the VERY worst.

BTW solid performace of late Joe. Enjoy your blog very much.

Off his medication, does catching a glimpse of a city being destroyed while the government does nothing doesn't count as seeing something the Administration would rather he not repeat?

The best perspective I've heard on Bush investigating his own administration's performance comes from Samantha Bee on tonight's Daily Show, who said something to the effect that good, impartial investigations require participants who can view the evidence from a distance, and given GWB's absence from the scene for so many days, that makes him eminently qualified. I think C&L might have a video feed.

Joe, don't let the trolls get to you, you're a great writer and a great American.

Dear Resident Evil poster,

What's "BFEE" ?

Could it stand for "Bush Feels Evil Everyday" ?

probably not, just a wild guess.

Please elaborate and enlighten those of us in the dark on this.

I agree with you.

regards,

Anon from San Francisco who is very concerned about SF or Chicago or LA being on Bush's "top ten" list.

1. Condi Rice went to a tennis match sponsored by her ex-employer in NYC. JP MorganChase. While she enjoyed herself, it should be noted that JP MorganChase recently apologized for using slaves as collateral in Louisiana .

2. Condi's name came up on a "china chart" of people connected with PRC by the ABLE DANGER program. Hearings start on September 14, 2005.

3. Arlen Specter of the magic bullet killed JFK not lonegunmen fame investigation will spearhead the investigation into the 9-11 Commission whitewash of 9-11 by whitewashing ABLE DANGER suppression. How predictable....

UNDER STALIN THOSE ABOUT TO BE KILLED WERE NOT LIED TO AND TOLD THEY WERE GOING TO BE RESCUED...THAT IS MORE REMINISCENT OF THE GAS OVENS WHEN VICTIMS WERE TOLD THEY WERE GOING FOR A BATH. which is kinda what they did to those poor people in NO.

I knew New Orleans Police officer Paul Accardo for many years and was well aware that he was in fact mentally unstable. His promotion to Sgt and his position as police spokesperson was gained due to his expert ability to "kiss butt" and certainly not because he was a leader or excellent patrol officer. During his entire career Accardo managed to secure easy assignments in areas of the city not known for high crime and when the hurricane caused mass disorder he took the easy way out- suicide.
