I'll probably get into trouble for mentioning this, but...

A noted computer scientist and astronomer concludes that so called "crop circles" (at least, those not attributable to hoaxers) are probably calibration exercises for airborne electromagnetic weaponry.

Oh, stop smirking. Just read his paper and at least consider the idea. Once you get over the odd approach to an even odder subject, the notion has a certain earthbound appeal. On occasion, folks in the aircraft industry (southern California's other industry) have told me that the latest iterations of "death from above" are far more Buck Rogersy than most members of the general public believe.

And I promise never again to let that ghastly subject intrude into this politically-oriented column.

wow. never thought of that angle before, but then have not given this phenom much thought at all.

but relative to the thought i have given it, this is about the most plausible explanation i've run across.

dreadful as it is.

will give it a read.....

Google "crop circles": the designs are
fascinating for their artistic value
alone.

Dr. David Ray Griffin in his book "The New
Pearl Harbor" points out that the
weaponization of space is a project dear
to the Pentagon's heart. The "Vision for
2020" document defines the mission
statement of the US Space Command as
"Dominating the space dimension of
military operations to protect US
interests and investment," in the
expectation that widening gaps between
"have-nots" and "haves" in the world will
lead to conflict. The goal is "full
spectrum dominance," which means control
of the land, the sea, the air, and space.
The logo of one of the divisions of the US
Space Command contains the slogan "In Your
Face From Outer Space."

Lastly, consider the fact that the reason
Ms. Rice ignored the al Qaeda threat in
2001 was because she was completely
involved in "Missile Defense". This is
clearly a code phrase for "the weaponization of space."

yes, very interesting about EMP/EMF "beam" type weapons.

consider the following: The columbia space shuttle was blown up not from having hit a stray piece of foam during launch but actually was attacked by an electromagnetic pulse (EMP/EMF) "beam" weapon pointed from roughly 5 miles away. Images of a purplish/reddish lightening strike hitting the Columbia space shuttle were caught on film by a San Francisco amateur photographer who set his digital camera to automode and took dozens of pictures as the Columbia space shuttle flew overhead.

This amazing story was covered no less than on the front pages of the SF Chronicle however NASA never returned the camera or the pictures that the photographer took and never addressed what caused this strange "light" to strike the Columbia space shuttle in the exact spot where the shuttle had problems.

Why would anyone attack the Columbia space shuttle? Well the first Israeli space astronaut, Israel Air Force Colonel Ilan Ramon, was on board and was the same man who been one of the pilots that had flown a fighter jet to destroy Iraq's nuclear reactors near Baghdad in 1981. Also some top secret experiments were conducted which would have given new evidence of new threat to world peace by the psycho "Dr. Evil" who was responsible for having caused those lightening bolts to hit the Columbia in the first place and to show what power he had at the time. Also, “Not by
coincidence perhaps, Ilan Ramon and Commander William McCool were both specialists in electromagnetic warfare” (fortunately this maniac Dr. Evil was finally taken out by Israel early Sept 2004--thank you Israel's top secret folks).

for more info on how EMF/EMP weaponry caused the Columbia Shuttle disaster, go to:

The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that a Bay Area amateur astronomer has photographs showing odd flashes of light, apparently an electrical discharge, around the space shuttle Columbia during the early phase of re-entry, just before the shuttle broke up.
